Los Angeles police say two Jewish men in their 30s were shot in the legs as they were about to enter a synagogue in the North Hollywood section of Los Angeles Thursday morning. A man described as an African-American with a handgun entered the Adat Yeshurun Valley Sephardic synagogue at about 6:20 a.m. Thursday and opened fire. The victims were taken to a hospital in stable condition.
Police are investigating the shooting as a hate crime. The Los Angeles Times says police arrested a man near the synagogue, but the sources say they don't believe he was the gunman.
The newspaper adds that police officials have alerted other synagogues around Los Angeles about the shooting, and police have stepped up patrols at Jewish religious institutions. Detectives are trying to determine if the gunman acted alone or as part of a larger group.
"Grave and shocking" Minister of Information and Diaspora Yuli Edelstein called the event “grave and shocking.”

If this were to become a common problem, I would be attending synagogue. I’m not Jewish, but I wouldn’t stand by and watch them attacked like this without my support.
I may not like some people, but it’s not my place to go gunning for them on the city streets. And I find it troubling that the climate would be such that anyone would think this action to be acceptable.
And for the record, Jews are not a part of that ‘some people’, just in case anyone wondered.
Any rational person would think it would. But let’s remember how liberal, in general, the Jewish community is.
More likely than not, even if this ends up being a ROP issue, there will be no epiphany for this group. Sad.

As to jurys, there's the Seattle Jewish Federation shooting. Muslim guy who hates Jews and Israel plans an attack over a period of weeks, purchases weapons, trains with them, secrets them, then carries out his attack, killing one and wounding five. Fifteen counts of various degrees of murder and attempted murder, the jury agreed on only one. First degree murder, not guilty, hung on the rest. Who knows, maybe he'll be tried again one day.
Hate crime, not charged, but the prosecutor did bring it up publicly, which is why he was not charged with various terrorism offences. Lucky for him, those charges would have been federal.
It looks like Obama’s racists are getting all wee-weed up with dear leader in power. Someone shot at Lou Dobbs house, too. His enemies would be Left wing hispanic racists who are angry over him expressing opposition to illegal immigration.
I hope this is not the beginning of something bigger. Prayers up for the victims of this hate crime and their community.
