President Obama, Prepare for a Political Earthquake

The latest Rasmussen poll shows Chris Christie, the Republican nominee for Governor in New Jersey, beating the incumbent Democrat John Corzine by 4 points, even with a third party conservative in the race drawing over 10 percent of the vote. In Virginia, Republican gubernatorial nominee Bob McDonnell is so far ahead of his Democratic rival Creigh Deeds that Democrats have already begun to argue on the front page of The Washington Post who is at fault for blowing that race.

So when are these elections - less than a week away, right? Can we expect some last-minute bomb throwing? And don’t tell me to read the article because that has never been a requirement for me to post.

When I was in college, the Talking Heads recorded a music video that featured one of their members in a huge, baggy suit. “And you may ask yourself,” he said, “Where is my beautiful wife?” That year, one of the now forgotten members of Saturday Night Live parodied the song, dressed in a similar huge suit. “And you may ask yourself,” he said, “’why the big suit?’ And you may ask yourself, ‘weren’t there any mirrors in that store?’” It was silly fun back then.

I think that America is waking up to find itself in the Big Suit, and that suit is the Emperor Who Has No Clothes.

For most middle-of-the-roaders and a lot of Democrats, the Obama Suit seemed like a good idea at the time. It was Black (well, half-black) and a lot of people bought it for only that reason. It was supposed to be American-made (although some concede it looks a lot like it was tailored in Kenya.) And when it was new, other people couldn’t shut up about how good it looked. It looked good at all the right parties, and a lot of people said that the style was going to be all the rage.

Sadly, like buying clothes during a three-day Sterno bender, America is beginning to wake up and look in the mirror, and the response, more and more, is “what the Hell?” The thing is, well, stupid. It’s made badly, the fabric is unreliable, it won’t protect you from the outside world, and you have to keep making payments on it, over and over and over. (And your kids and grandkids will too, And it is looking more and more like it was previously owned by seven billion Red Chinese who still want a say in how it is tailored.)

It’s happening slowly, but I have hopes. Every day, a few more of us wake, shudder, look in the mirror and ask, with a dumbstruck expression, “What have I done? Weren’ t there any mirrors in that store?”

IF ANY VOTER, falls for that strategy - they haven't learned anything! Tune OUT to the state run media!

Even if Corzine manages to buy and cheat his way into another term by inserting his pal Daggett into the race, it's still a loss for the rats.

I'm not counting my Earthquakes before they hatch. But I am looking forward to next Tuesday night. The Dems can cheat up 4 percent. But if half of the 3rd party conservatives come back to the GOP they would have a 9 point lead. And even ACORN can't cheat up that many votes without making it very obvious.

New York 23 will also be interesting. In this case the opposite is true, where many of the GOP votes will abandon their candidate once she looks hopeless and vote for the conservative party.

Virginia is just things returning to what they should be. But New York and New Jersey are take aways. The ability to do that would send a big signal to Dingy Harry and his crew that their survival depends on not being seen as Obama's crew.

That third party vote is most likely overstated. The way the ballot is printed, a lot of voters will have a hard time finding the third party candidate and as election day approaches, people are beginning to understandf a third party vote is a vote for Corzine.

Had Obama campaigned on his true agenda, which is the destruction of capitalism in our country, and the abolition of capital formation, he would not have been elected. Now that it is evident what his real goals are, many are having voters’ remorse.

More like a well-placed warning shot across the bow than an earthquake.

This off-season election won’t change anything except the attitudes of blue-dog democrats.

These democrats, elected in republican-leaning districts, are going to think twice before voting for any over-reaching socialism.

This election may very well kill Obamascare and Cap&Tax.

Only 4 points down means Corzine probably has it in the acorn bag. If ACORN can’t fix 4 points, what good is it?

You in NJ? Any chance Republicans will gain in the legislature even if corzine wins again? That would be a boost.

This is the race that probably would hurt B0 the most. Losing both these governorships would look pretty bad. But I suspect Corzine can steal enough votes in the end. Winning in VA actually is of more significance but surely the “news” media will play up the Dems winning, even though their victories will have been assured thanks to 3-way splits.
