Bret Baier just said on Special Report that senior officials are telling various news outlets that Obama is going to ask for 20,000 more troops for Afghanistan. Nothing up on the website yet or anywhere else- just reported. Expect to hear the offical announcement within the week.

LOL, so doggone predictable is this faux genius.
Not sure of any details yet..
.....20,000 that’s more than an Army division...where’s he going to find another division to send?
Note to Generals, if you need 40,000 ask for 80,000.
Patton was right, we never finish the job, the politicians in Washington make it so we have another battle to fight in a couple of years, except this a lot more is at stake.
Halfganistan
It took him three months to decide to do something half-assed. Color me shocked.
I’ll believe it when it happens.
Good one!
Actually- the original number was closer to 100,000 to 150,000...he was told not to ask for that many- 40,000 was a number they thought they might reach agreement on...but I guess that’s not the case.
How many troops did General McChrystal ask for?
Also, in what capacity are these troops expected to serve in?
Also, when are the troops going to hit the theater of combat (if they are slated for that)?
Also, what are the “rules of engagement” going to be for these troops?
Also, how are the troops going to be equipped / backed-up? (Thinking of the lack of AC-130 gunships in the Somali “Black Hawk Down” battle.)
Lots of questions to answer. I dearly hope Zero gets it right, even though I despise the cud, and suspect he isn’t even eligible for the office he occupies. I just care for the troops and the mission they fight for.
They asked for 80,000 and said they’d settle for 40,000
What a sad excuse for a human being we have in the WH
That’s a winner!

Now THAT is an instant all-time FreeRepublic classic!
sounds like a political decision than a military one. He’s testing the waters with the leak
