The government cannot have my dog.
Don't tell that to the authors of the new book, "Time to Eat the Dog?: The Real Guide to Sustainable Living." The authors calculate that dog owning is much worse than SUV driving for the planet. So when you see a car heading to the dog park with some very happy labs drooling out the window, you should think "climate criminals."
Meanwhile, in less surprising news, cats (long known as the handmaidens of Satan) have roughly the ecological paw print of a Volkswagen Golf.

I say save the pets, eat the wacko environmentalists...
Maybe if we nuked all of asia we could stop hearing about gorebull warming. It would be worth it just to shut this aholes up.
By the time you were certain that they were sufficiently cooked to be safe to eat, they would be well past the charcoal stage.
I no longer use the term “wacko environmentalists”. I now use the term “evil environmentalists”. It’s not their environmentalism. It’s their mindless destructive proposals. Really. Do any of these people have two brain cells to rub together?
I prefer the term “anti-human”.
Why don’t people who think up crap like this get a real freaking job and contribute something to society besides used paper & hot air!
Mmmm...hippies :P’’’’
I remember from some movie that something goes very well with fava beans and a nice chianti...and it certainly wasn’t dog parts.
One of the radical greenie platforms is the elimination of all domesticated animals. That goes for both livestock and pets. One of the people who has espoused such a position is a czar of Zero’s Politburo.
That’s odd.
I just did a search for “Time to Eat the Dog?: The Real Guide to Sustainable Living” on Amazon. The title showed up in the search window, but it didn’t lead anywhere.
I wonder if they’ve squirreled it away somewhere because the title is offensive?
A link to UK Amazon site had the book when I first looked before I posted the article. I did look at the Amazon’s US site and, as you said, title did come up in search drop-down menu, but didn’t actually show up on page...it is a little weird.
FR seems to be working awfully slowly for me tonight. Earlier, I could not get on for a couple of hours.
Don’t they still enforce laws against public nusances?
These guys are simply crazy.
No.
Except for Gore..who has made a fortune!
Solyent Green is tree-huggers!
The site seems to have been down for a couple of hours, earlier. I usually go to YahooFreeRepublic2 when that happens, to find out what’s going on. Not sure what the trouble was this time.

It’s always just been a given that ruffage is good for you.
Thanks for my first smile of the morning...besides the smile that crossed my face this morning when greeted by my three big dumb dogs as I got out of bed. :-)

Sorry about the multiples...FR still seems wonky and slow...
