Gary Johnson is preparing to launch his Our America PAC shortly, as soon as he gets all of his legal ducks in a row. He will be hitting the trail hard soon, traveling the country to speak in support of issues and candidates, re-immersing himself in the public policy debate.
This December, Governor Johnson will also be releasing a book entitled “Seven Principles Of Good Government,” published by The Heartland Institute (a conservative-libertarian think tank).
Ok, I like him already.
so, what’s the bad news?

I used to think that way, but no longer. People like McCain have destroyed the GOP.
I happen to know that Johnson would not oppose a Palin/Johnson ticket and that it will probably not be Republican and certainly will not be Democrat.
I hope Johnson gets some exposure and brings some fresh blood to the table.
FR will become a very interesting place beginning in 2011 as the run up to the primaries begin. It will be knock down, drag out amongst the GOP group and then you have to follow that with the 3rd party wannabees such as keyes’ group. Bannings will become a necessity before it’s all over and flame wars will abound.
Frankly, this line of reasoning makes him sound like a complete retard:

JOHNSON: That’s absolute baloney. I just don’t buy it. In one survey people were asked if they did drugs. First, they were asked in the Seventies. I can imagine people responding, “Well, sure, doesn’t everybody?” Today, they would likely say “No way” before hanging up. It’s a different time. But if we have reduced drug use by half—some claim it has gone down from 26 million to 13 million users—where are the corresponding dollar savings?
Uh, Johnson... The first argument makes sense. It’s wrong. (There’s a reason the kid in the 1970s said, “doesn’t everybody?”) But at least it makes sense. Interviews alone cannot confirm the decline in the use of drugs that happened between 1982 and 1993. But, the second argument is sheer idiocy. That’s like saying fire prevention doesn’t work because we’re spending more money on smoke detectors. Sure, New York spends money hand over fist to incarcerate drug dealers. On the other hand, New York was a lot better place to live during the Giuliani years than during the Koch years. Even now, the recession has put New York in horrible fiscal straits, but if Johnson thinks life in New York was better in the 1970s, to Hell with him.
Me too! Johnson is the most pro-liberty candidate in the race and unlike Palin he has a very long and successful record. He is a tiger for the second amendment, tax cuts, and supports marijuana legalization. He is almost a dream candidate for supporters of liberty.
A primer for libertarians on how to look at themselves in the mirror without laughing while having non-aggression as their guiding principle and at the same time being pro abortion (or pro choice as pro abortionists like to say).

Only potheads and needle freaks think places are free because of some politician, rather than because rough men stand to do battle on their behalf. And typically such people bite the hand that feeds them.

Yes, it’s a fool’s notion that abortion privileges equate to liberty. Only psychopaths and the delusionary desire to kill babies; the existence of abortion is both a cause and symptom of deprived liberty. It’s maddening to hear, “what about cases of incest?” Well, who do you think is taking the girl to the abortion clinic? Abortion is what allows the incest to continue! Same goes for abusive sexual partners.
(Rape is a very special concern, but rape kits can prevent pregnancies from occurring up to four days after the attack. By allowing women to hesitate until evidence goes cold, abortion even helps rapists.)

He was a Republican Governor? Not to mention if you don’t run as GOP or Dem, you cannot get on the ballots in all 50 States.

I ok with his running,,, tough minded businessman, gritty athelete,,, but the drug thing and the semi-crazy libertarian foreign policy won’t be winning ideas.
I just read his comments and he is saying he might run as a Republican. Ron Paul runs as a Republican to get elected so why shouldn’t this guy?
Rather than continue to exchange barbs, tell me why she will never be president? Tell me why she would not make a great president. What is it about her that causes you to think she will not be president and if elected, she would not be a great president.
With those two issues, he doesn’t stand a prayer. Pro-open borders — not way to seal that deal for so many reasons.
Nice purple prose. Let’s talk specifics about the implications. Do you think a woman who has an abortion should get the death penalty for murder? Do you think she go to jail if she skies or goes mountain climbing while eight months pregnant?
