Scientology Spokesman Tommy Davis Leaves Interview in Anger
The Church of Scientology is taking a beating today.
First, former member Paul Haggis wrote a scathing letter renouncing the religion, and now a video of spokesman Tommy Davis walking out of an interview with Martin Bashir on 'Nightline,' is making the rounds on the Internet.
Davis was offended when Bashir asked questions about the popular celebrity religion's beliefs.
"Do you believe that the Galactic Emperor called Xenu brought his people to earth 75 million years ago and buried them in volcanoes?" Bashir asked.
"Martin, I'm not going to discuss the disgusting perversions of Scientology beliefs that can be found out commonly on the Internet and be put in the position of talking about things that ... talking about things that are so fundamentally offensive to Scientologists to discuss," Davis replied.
But the 'Nightline' anchor pressed on. "Well, I have the burden of my own journalistic responsibility that I bring to this meeting and I hope that I've been appropriately respectful of you in my asking of the questions."

To quote the last line of “Plan 9 From Outer Space:”
Can you prove it DIDN’T happen? ;)
Ive always wanted to meet one of those idiots so I could offend them in person.
Moreover, I don't remember any Scientologists blowing up schools or military barracks, flying planes into buildings or beating their women for reading, driving, drinking or walking outside uncovered.
If Martin Brasheer, or anyone else at ABC, wants to worry about a religion, he should worry about one that celebrates misogyny, Antisemitism and murder of the infidels, JMHO.
Did someone say haggis?
The ABC exposé was, basically, reiterating the St. Pete Times article that came out earlier. What I’d like to know is.....where is David Miscavige?
They are sooo sued!
>> Personally, I would love to have a t-shirt or bumper sticker that says “Bow Down To Xenu” with the picture of some ugly space alien. What better way to discredit Scientology than with open sunlught?
ROFL! You better hurry, though, while there’s still some Scieno credit left to discredit!
I don’t have any problem if people asking the tenets of any religion, as long as it applies to all of them. Too often, Christians, Mormons, and Scientology are the only religions whose adherents have to defend their faith from such questions.
>> save me xenu
Wow... I just noticed for the FIRST TIME from that picture you posted that XENU backwards misspells UNIX!
...nah, it probably doesn’t mean anything.
... or does it??!?!???!?!
Personally, I think is is far more likely that some aliens introduced life here on earth then it is that a single all powerful being created the universe and man. If there were such a conscience that knows everything about everyone right down to every hair on every head of the billions of humans, then why would it allow the crap to go that goes on? No logic in that, Flame on!
Yes, I heard someone say give Scientologists a break, God has to have something to laugh at now and then. Indeed, Scientologists are really bizarre.
Easy question to answer...
