Here's something rather rotten from the State of Denmark. Its government yesterday unveiled official research showing that two-year-old children are at risk from a bewildering array of gender-bending chemicals in such everyday items as waterproof clothes, rubber boots, bed linen, food, nappies, sunscreen lotion and moisturising cream.
The 326-page report, published by the environment protection agency, is the latest piece in an increasingly alarming jigsaw. A picture is emerging of ubiquitous chemical contamination driving down sperm counts and feminising male children all over the developed world. And anti-pollution measures and regulations are falling far short of getting to grips with it.
Sperm counts are falling so fast that young men are less fertile than their fathers and produce only a third as much, proportionately, as hamsters. And gender-bending chemicals are increasingly being blamed for the mystery of the "lost boys": babies who should normally be male who have been born as girls instead.
The Danish government set out to find out how much contamination from gender-bending chemicals a two-year-old child was exposed to every day. It concluded that a child could be "at critical risk" from just a few exposures to high levels of the substances, such as from rubber clogs, and imperilled by the amount it absorbed from sources ranging from food to sunscreens.
The results build on earlier studies showing that British children have higher levels of gender-bending chemicals in their blood than their parents or grandparents. Indeed WWF (formerly the World Wildlife Fund), which commissioned the older research, warned that the chemicals were so widespread that "there is very little, if anything, individuals can do to prevent contamination of themselves and their families."

I’m sure you’re right, but don’t you hate the state of journalism these days, where you end up with more questions than answers?
Too true. However, we can take a few precautions from what little we know. For starters, don't microwave food in plastic containers. It's easy enough to transfer things into casserole dishes or onto glass or ceramic plates for heating. I've done it for years because of intermittent reports of this type. It's also not hard to reduce consumption of soy products, unless you really like soy milk or tofu. I read labels carefully anyway because we steer clear of high-fructose corn syrup. By cooking mostly from scratch we avoid both the syrup and large concentrations of soy protein. We never used soy formula or soy milk, and nobody likes tofu. I will admit to using bottled water sometimes because we have nasty tasting well water. I try to keep the bottles from getting too warm though, since it releases more plasticizers into the water. When my boys go camping, they take water bottles. We've recently purchased some aluminum bottles so they can switch away from the older nalgene bottles. Especially when the boys were little, we bought milk from the farm which was unpasteurized and free of added antibiotics and hormones.
I'm sure we're still being exposed to things we're unaware of, but there are steps we can take even with incomplete knowledge. By sticking with basic foods, home cooking, and by avoiding some of the plastics in contact with food (especially hot ones), we can likely reduce risk and probably eat more healthy foods in the process.
I have become extremely suspicious of all soy based products for this very reason. I have been vocalizing my theory to new mothers who use soy based formulas, especially for their male children about the effects of the phytoestrogens on their masculinity. They might think I’m a whack job, but that’s my theory and I’m sticking to it!!!
Exactly.
when I see a well dressed educated white male who is young and acts manly I just want to go congratulate him and challenge him to arm wrestling or something...
how in the hell did this happen?
note....this is part of the same culture that has now produced the woman as premier force in the family and also kids who are overindulged and no limits and allowed to run all over the parents and other adults
the only place I've seen more exceptions than not to this is the Cotton South...I'm sure there are others.
this bodes poorly for our future
how often do I see the man carrying the papoose and the diaper bag while the woman charges ahead chin out
or the guy in the back seat with baby (future tyrant) while mom drives the hybrid
skinny pants and martin short hairstyle
the most silly assed women beaten lads maybe the world has ever known...no wonder black guys think we are chumps...
hell, we are...lol
I had a young guy get mad and challenge me not long ago...hell...I almost cried...I hugged and told how great to see a meterosexual nut up to a big old bear like me...made my day
For every Uriah Faber there are 1000s of girly men.
who woulda ever thought old former long haired Duane Allman looking guys like me would one day seem...so masculine..lol...to my dad's generation we were girls
Bro did not get much of the expected natural genetic help...
I wonder how much the higher voices of modern men are due to the fact that modern men don’t smoke three packs a day and don’t have 3 martini lunches...thinking of the grown up men in church when I was a kid (a clean living, southern baptist style church), there were many with higher voices.
I think our culture definitely feminizes men. But the USA was a matriarchy a long long time ago. Probably started with the temperance movement. Or check out Philip Wylie’s “Generation of Vipers,” from the early 1940s. Or the mother and father in “Rebel Without A Cause”. Yeah, we’re whipped - but there’s nothing new about it!
You believe that a normal human diet consisting of cereals, fruits, and vegetables is causing the feminization of boys? Phytoestrogens are found in hundreds of plants (fruits, cereals, tubers and vegetables) that you consume every day. How can they be bad for you when consumed from soy but not from their many of other sources?
My friend, you have voiced all of my thoughts, as well. The only possible explanation I can add comes from an Italian immigrant friend. Back in the early 70’s, watching the growing feminist movement, he said that historically, this had all happened before. He had studied ancient cultures at university and cited Rome, Greece, et al. His next comment came as a surprise (remember, this was the early 70’s). He explained that throughout history, each time women rose to power they were immediately followed by a rise in the homosexual movement. His final comment was so ludicrous (for its time) that I began laughing. “Laugh all you want, he said, but you will live to see the collapse of the US as a super power.” I’m not laughing anymore.
I do believe a NORMAL human diet consists of a wide variety of cereals, fruits and vegetables. The problem is that a person eating a typical American diet with lots of processed foods contains a surprisingly large amount of soy. Since soy oil and soy flour are cheaper than other vegetable oils and wheat flour they found in such common foods as salad dressing, pancake mix, whole grain bread, peanut butter and vegetable pot pies. If you as an adult are not sensitive to this modern over abundance of soy products continue to enjoy your food choices without worry. But I do think it is wise for parents of children to be as cautious about soy products as they are with vaccinations, and car seats.
As for myself I have to read the label on everything I eat. The most common cause of my ulcerative colitis flare-ups is soy. The only safe soy products are pan spray (Pam) and soy sauce because the elements in soy that cause difficulty no longer exist.
As someone who has always loved to cook, our four children had limited experiences with such foods as boxed mac and cheese, white bread, mayonnaise from a jar, spaghetti sauce from a can or jar, nor any kind of dinner Helper in a box during their childhood. As a result my three adult sons do most of the cooking in their household since the daughters-in-law grew up in heat-n-eat families.
We drive forty miles into Reno, Nevada twice a month to purchase most of our produce and bread at Whole Foods. The quality of these items is worth the added time and expense.
Here is my brief reply: Too much of a good thing can be a bad thing. Examples: Salt is a natural ingredient in many foods. But it is easy with our modern diets to overdose on salt.
If a diet filled with soy products helps you to feel healthy go for it. No food is a miracle food. Soy is not a cure all for illness or aging. And neither is soy a poison except for the rare few of us who have severe allergic reactions.
Have a good evening. It’s time for “Dancing With the Stars”.
I thought WWF meant World Wrestling Federation. Also, don’t libs/feminazis just want men to be pussies anyway?
I'm raising my sons to be MEN, like their father. Strong, solid, aggressive, smart, and honorable.
No pansies in this house.
Football, firearms, and some rough-housing. And lots of time outside.
Thanks for the ping!
Yes it is. It is for a fact.
Since when is the label “Jock” a bad thing? Everyone loves football and basketball, no?
I meant that people here seem to be anti-gay even to the point of turning nasty about a little boy who wants to play with girl things or vice versa. This does NOT only happen in hippie dippie liberal families. The child should not be made to feel ashamed of his/her innocent little self. And it’s not the parents’ fault either.
