Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is warning conservative activists that their support for a third-party candidate in a key upcoming New York special election is a mistake.
In a video captured last week and posted on YouTube Friday, Gingrich told tea party organizer Lisa Miller at a book-signing event that conservatives are inadvertently hindering the cause by backing Conservative Party nominee Doug Hoffman over Dede Scozzafava, the Republican Partys nominee.
I just think it is a mistake for the conservative movement to think splitting in the special election is a smart idea, Gingrich said. If we give that seat to the Democrats, shame on us.
A number of top national conservative voices have endorsed Hoffman in the last week, while others have yet to weigh in on behalf of either candidate. Gingrich, however, is one of the few prominent conservatives to support Scozzafava.

oh, we are galvanized all right, we want to kick out ALL of the scum sucking washington insiders.
Gingrich is right, Scozzafava should step aside so the conservative vote wont be split :)
Fix it here and now, or get out of the way, Newt. If it has to be addressed on a national level in 2012, we'll have another McCain as a candidate and another 0bama term.
BOLD COLORS!!!
BOO!
If we give it to a Liberal “Republican” shame on us.
If the ‘Pubbies want to fight the grassroots over it, they lose. Why not go along with us?
Now that's funny!
Actually I think Mark Davis is conservative himself but he puts lots of controversy in his shows. I tried the other radio station talk shows in DFW and returned to Mark. There are two guys who came here from other states and spend all day bashing TX, our Governor, our cities, schools, etc. Then they say they are Conservatives. I restrain myself from inviting them back to their beginnings. If you think Mark is arrogant, just give them a listen.
“Gingrich said. If we give that seat to the Democrats, shame on us. “
You got that part right...shame on you and all of the RINO hacks at the RNC and its various appendages.
To think that Newt was once a visionary ideas and issues guys (Contract with America)...to a mere Party functionary that sells out the principles he once espoused.
Shame on you, Newt.
Bill, you’ve nailed it!
Be Ever Vigilant!
There are too many GREAT podcasts to waste my time with Mark Davis. Podcasts are the way to go!!! :-)
Steve Malzberg, Roger Hedgecock, Fred Thompson, etc.
I’m done with Mark Davis.

“Do the right thing and let God handle the details” has worked well for me in this life. Painful at times? Yes! Sleep comes easy though.
No, Mr. Gingrich. Shame on you!
Shame on you for putting party politics before principle!
A mistake? The mistake here is endorsing a leftist and telling the rest of us that the leftist will ultimately help the conservative cause.
The Republican Party is in trouble if it depends upon people like this to wave its banner.
Newt does not want the third party candidate to succeed because it means Palin’s influence is strong. It means Newt’s intention to run for President will not garner much support or not as much as he would need to win the nomination if Gov. Palin was not in the race or influencing other voters.
Your wish is my command.
LET THEM GO THEIR WAY!
