MJ is easily the most OVERRATED "musician" of all time. A bubble-gum band singer (J5) and maybe 2 advanced bubble gum albums thanks entirely to a true artist/producer (Quincy Jones).

Add his pedophilia sickness & druggie lifestyle and you've got an alleged "star" for the 80's who was superb in playing that one trick pony the rest of his life.

Yep. If we can just get all of those blood-thirsty Muslims to start doing the Thriller dance, in unison, instead of blowing things up, all will be well. I think the zombie theme fits them to a T.

I love this one, too. They are really very good, but I guess they have had plenty of time to practice.

Yes but does it surpass MK's world record practice of child abuse? Never fear, perverts... The Obamanation will legalize that shortly!

I disagree. It wasn’t all hype that made people worldwide love his music. We can debate his personal life, certainly. But there’s little doubt that he was an amazing entertainer on stage and on record.

A great entertainer? Yes but certainly not a "genuis" artist. Heavy breathing over & over on all his records does not make a genius artist. His records had a good beat for disco lovers - so i will say MJ was a genius for that low-brow bubblegum genre.

Seriously, I'd say Lynard Skinner had a higher level artistic quality.

Hard to take seriously someone who self-proclaimed himself as the "king of pop" & demanded MTV to use that phrase in order to play his videos.

Please to lighten up. This is about as non-political — apolitical — as you can get. It is pure silliness, more of which I think we need in the world.

Apologies. It's your thread. But, I never was -- and never will be -- a fan of Michael Jackson or his music... And I view those who are/were as hopelessly simpleminded...

JMO -- but, that's how it is...

Different strokes. No need to apologize. I enjoyed him in his hay day, but long ago moved on. That said, I think the Thriller dance phenomenon is very, very funny, and, I think, basically harmless. It does take a certain amount of discipline to perform it properly, because everyone has to do the same steps at the same time, but you’re right, it is simpleminded. My mother used to talk about something called the Bunny Hop.
