An intruder broke into a home on Oscar Smith Drive in San Marcos Wednesday night and came out of the adventure with several gunshot wounds from a resident of the home. San Marcos police are investigating.
Police responded to a call of someone trying to break into a home in the 700 block of Oscar Smith Drive. Three residents were inside when a man forced his way into the home through a back door.
The suspect was armed with a BB gun resembling a real pistol. One of the residents fired numerous shots from a handgun, striking the intruder. The man fled on foot.
Shortly after the 9:50 p.m. incident, a man arrived at Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) with several gunshot wounds. He received primary treatment at the CTMC Emergency Room and was transferred to the University Medical Center at Brackenridge in Austin.
The man was reported to be in stable condition Thursday morning.
Police are not releasing the names of any persons involved in the incident as they continue their investigation.
Another happy ending.
Thanks Chuck for posting this.
Another happy ending?? Are you joking!!
The ‘intruder’ survived, and can now file a lawsuit against the owners of said property on Oscar Smith Drive.
“The suspect was armed with a BB gun resembling a real pistol. One of the residents fired numerous shots from a handgun, striking the intruder.”
Don’t bring a BB gun to a real handgun fight.
That’s the real problem. Next time he wont.
I doubt this criminal has learned anything from his experience except to bring a real gun next time.
Too bad he survived.
Somebody needs a little more target practice!
LOL! What is the basis of his lawsuit? This is Texas. Property owners have the rights, not home-invaders.
There seem to be a lot of stories such as this one coming out of San Marcos (a tiny little town south of Austin, home to Texas State University) in the past couple of years . Most of these home invasions are drug-related. Unfortunate.
This is San Marcos, Texas. The shot-up intruder will have a cell waiting for him in Huntsville after a short deliberation by a jury. You should not kick in a door in Texas without expecting to be shot. If you survive, you will go to prison.
That’s the way it should be everywhere.
Jeebus...never show up for a battle unless you’re armed to fight it...
A BB gun? In Texas??? Hahahahahahahaha!
My daughter works at CMTC in the ER, I’ll have to call and get the scoop!! ROFL!
A BB gun to commit burglary!!! Jeebus!!!
Shot him several times and he is in stable condition? The resident t must be a DemoLib.
No names hunh? Lemmie guess: The perp was a “non-white”, and the resident was a white woman....A DemoLib white woman.
I bet the perp was an illegal alien, and the shooter a Hispanic....knowing how much political correctness is given for both groups these days....
Nah, the they wouldn’t want to hush it up. That narrative would not put the LibPerv mantra in a bad light. Poor suffering “undocumented” persecution victim, seeking food, shot by poor vitimized :non white” who feels the need to keep a gun to protdct himself from the Storm Troopers police, whenever they bother to show up, because they are so poorly funded, like teachers, and have to spend their time protecting LGBT marchers and their “ Marriage rights”.
