The First Lady cited a new study from the Department of Health and Human Services -- which just happened to come out today -- citing breast cancer patients with insurance who had to pay an average of $6,200 in out-of-pocket costs each year. "This is with insurance," Mrs. Obama said. "These are the people who are blessed." The situation is, of course, far worse for those without insurance, Mrs. Obama said.
But the insurance companies make life miserable even for those with coverage. "And then there are those annual lifetime caps that insurance companies set," Mrs. Obama said, with "one recent survey show[ing] that ten percent of all cancer patients report hitting a cap on their benefits…"

1. Mutual companies — owned by the policyholders — no net.
2. Stock companies — owned by stockholders — and their net is 2% to 3%.

All I know is that my wife frequents a lot of BC survivor message boards and in 5 years she has seen members from Canada and UK die prematurely due to lack of treatment or from rationed care.

A relative of mine works for a large BC/BS partner. The overwhelming majority of them voted for Obama. Nowadays they sit around the office in a daze, wondering how it is he could be a few votes away of putting them all out on the street. BC/BS is a major Affirmative Action employer, so the bulk of people who will be cut loose will come from Barry’s core constituency. Idiots!!

I saw someone beefing on Politico's comment section on a health care article about catastrophic insurance that he shouldn't have to pay to have a mole removed. A mole removed - probably $500 tops. He probably spends more on beer in a year. We have become a nation that thinks that we shouldn't have to work or pay for anything. It is truly disturbing.
What a bitch! I beat 3rd stage breast cancer in 2004-05 with standard treatments that were covered very nicely by insurance, all I was out were a couple of hundred bucks in deductible payments and generic chemo med costs.
I DESPISE THESE DEMONCRAPS!! Nothing is holy to these people, certainly not THE TRUTH!!!!
Each of my breast cancer treatments were $20,000 and I had 6 of them. Then, I did 30 days of radiation.
Cheap price to still be alive.
Get my port removed Nov. 9 - doctors are saying they think I am cured because my type of cancer is very aggressive and there is no sign of it after 2 years. Keeping my fingers crossed and saying lots of prayers that it stays this way.
I wish you luck. I just had all the typical screens and I’m still cancer free after 5 years. It’s happening more and more, but I sure don’t think I’d be here if I were dependent on the government for my care!
