Abramoff Wing of GOP

No such thing. Abramoff was a Democrat lobbyist. The only connection the media could make between Abramoff and the GOP was a photo where Bush was walking about 15 feet ahead of Abramoff after getting off AF1. (Abramoff was not on the plane.)

Boy, did you drink the Kool aid! This is why the GOP can’t rid itself of corruption. Abramoff was a top fundraiser for Bush, and on his transition team, picking people for his Interior dept. and MUCH more. Also good friend of Rove and Grover Norquist, who wrote Bush Policy. There was more than one photo.

“I know Jack Abramoff,” Gillespie replied. He mentioned the other lobbyist and insisted: “They are Republicans; they were Republicans before they were lobbyists. . . . I think they want to see a Republican reelected in the White House in 2004 more than anything.......After the 2000 election, Abramoff was named to the Bush transition team for the Interior Department, which regulates the Indian casinos that paid Abramoff his inflated fees.

“What the Republicans need is 50 Jack Abramoffs,” his friend Grover Norquist told National Journal in 1995. “Then this becomes a different town.” Norquist got his different town. “

That is not true, to put it mildly.

Abramoff is a 100% true-blue GOP neocon , a liberal Republican in other words.

College Republican National Chairman

After graduating from Brandeis, Abramoff ran for election as chairman of the College Republican National Committee (CRNC). After a campaign which cost over $10,000 and was managed by Grover Norquist, Abramoff won the election after the chief competitor, Amy Moritz (who later, as Amy Ridenour, became a founding director of the National Center for Public Policy Research, and was involved in several trips funded by Jack Abramoff), was convinced to drop out. Abramoff “changed the direction of the committee and made it more activist and conservative than ever before,” notes the CRNC. “It is not our job to seek peaceful coexistence with the Left,” Abramoff was quoted as saying in the group’s 1983 annual report. “Our job is to remove them from power permanently.”[16]
