Let me first apologize to Rush Limbaugh.
Last week in explaining why NFL commissioner Roger Goodell needed to put an end to Limbaugh's latest publicity stunt, I attributed racially insensitive quotes to Limbaugh that I read in two Missouri newspapers, saw on CNN and confirmed through a Google search. Prior to posting the article, I never found a denial of these quotes by Limbaugh, and had no reason to believe those statements were not true.
It was unfair to Limbaugh. And I regret that. I've commented on some of his earlier controversies. I've long been an admirer of his broadcasting skills.
For the most part, I've never taken his political commentary all that seriously. There are virtually no modern-day political figures that I take seriously. Politics and politicians are too dishonest and too controlled by financial influences for my taste. I've never participated in American politics. I've never voted.
I am not right wing or left wing, Democrat or Republican, liberal or conservative. I'm not beholden to any political agenda. An examination of my work at FOXSports.com, the Kansas City Star and/or any of the places I've worked previously would reveal a free-thinking, hardcore independent.
I dislike and distrust everybody equally.

I didn’t read either of his columns on Limbaugh, but read several of them a year or so ago.
Every column I’ve ever read of his is about race in some form or fashion. He spends about half of his column talking about how he “keeps it real” and has the guts to say what others won’t, yada, yada, yada.
Quit reading him cause he writes the same column over and over.
i read a few pages of his book and a couple articles. he goes back and forth.
Remarkable nonetheless.
Jason, this was not a stunt by Rush. He was asked to join a group which he did. I believe he was set up.

Ok. Sorry. :-)
Reagan had the bully pulpit and used it. His attackers could never get the edge.
Funny to catch those two words together as they have been on my mind this past week. I never thought of President Reagan a bully, but that is exactly what I think about BamaKennedy.
The word pulpit to me means 'credibility', which is why it was not offensive to hear 'bully pulpit' associated with President Reagan.
The phrase 'bully pulpit' that BamaKennedy is using exists but not for the same purpose as was used by President Reagan. BamaKennedy is bullying US like a boa constrictor takes his prey.
It certainly was anything but an apology. He threw a deck of race cards in the ring.
Honest mistake :-)
