Should the American people turn the Czars concept against our rulers? How about a Congress Czar, whose job it would be to ensure that Congress balances the budget (spends no more than it takes in) or else Congress forfeits 90% of its pay and benefits. The only thing the Congress czar could not directly control is the influence peddling that Congress uses after they are out of office to enrich themselves. Media scrutiny would identify cases of Congress selling out the American people for personal gain, and the new Congress czar would have the power to fine the Congressperson, or former Congressperson so that this type of corruption would no longer pay.
for starters, I’d approve of a congress czar slashing pay and benefits for congress by 90% every year they increase the debt ceiling
and also the congress czar would personally review and approve or disprove all requests for miltary aircraft to provide VIP travel except to a war zone containg US troops
How about this?
The czar could reduce pay and retirement benefits by 90% for any Congress person that used a military aircraft for any non-war zone travel. This would include any campaign event or any taxpayer funded junket or vacation, so long as the country is spending more than it takes in.
This would be a real incentive for Congress not to set a bad example by squandering our resources.
How about instead of some big government czar, let’s have a “liberty czar” and “anti-taxing czar” and “czar in charge of shutting down the dept. of education”. Those are czars I could like.
> Freepers, what do you think?
1) Obama doesn’t like the term “czar”.
2) let’s help him out and stop using the term “czar”
3) I wonder how he likes the term “Overlord”?
