Republicans automatically made Doug Hoffman the front runner in the congressional race when they nominated Dede Scozzafava, says Dick Armey, former Majority Leader of the House of Representatives.
The Texas Republican appeared at Hoffman's side Thursday morning at Hoffman campaign offices in Watertown, giving the Conservative his endorsement.
"The Republicans lost this race when the put up that big-spending, liberal candidate," Armey said, referring to GOP candidate Dede Scozzafava.

Doug Hoffman is the Conservative alternative in this race (or Hoffman by PayPal).
Markos Moulitsas, founder of The Daily Kos has endorsed Scozzafava. Dede Scozzafava has also been endorsed by NYSUT, the largest labor union in New York, and an affiliate of the National Education Association.

Scozzafava has also run in past elections on the Working Families Party (a progressive party associated with ACORN) line on the ballot.
This lady isn’t a RINO, she is a big “R” libeRal democRat. Mark Steyn has coined the term DIABLO for her and others like her. Democrat In All But Label Only.
There are also at least 17 unprincipled DIABLO enablers in the house who have donated funds or otherwise supported to this LibeRal democRat's DIABLO’s campaign. They include Boehner, Cantor, Sessions, Hensarling, Brown-Waite and McCotter. I don’t have a full list, but I will be looking for it. These unprincipled enablers should be targeted for elimination in the primaries next year. Also, perhaps those of us who donated to the RNC or RCCC should ask for our money back so we can support the conservative candidates of our choice.

Republicans like Scozzafava would rather see a democrat in office then a conservative.
Scuzzy has no redeeming qualities. None. There is not one good reason to vote for her if you are a Republican.
Unfortunately some other Texans endorsed the ScuzzyOne.

The latest published poll had Hoffman in third, but the only candidate moving up, and he was moving up a lot.

I think Armey may have seen some internal polls. Everything I have heard (though no specifics are given) says this race is a virtual tie right now. Scozzafava would be dead in third if not for the RCCC’s all in move last week and Newt’s endorsement. The money has actually been better for her than the endorsement.
This race is going to come down to advertising and money.
The district definitely has a Hoffman tilt to it. They elected a relatively conservative John McHugh last year with 65% of the vote. Hoffman is closest to McHugh’s positions on the issues. If he keeps 2 out of 3 of McHugh’s voters, he has a real shot. The other candidates are well to the left of McHugh, with Owens being a little closer to McHugh on the issues than Scozzafava.

The partisanship within the party has become more apparent since the most recent poll showed Hoffman surging and Scozzafava falling into second place.
Internal party polling not released to the public may show Hoffman's surge and Scozzafava's slide continuing, Hoffman suggested at his press conference Thursday.
Mark Levine, Rush Limbaugh, Mike Savage, are all pushing for Hoffman

I voted for Bush against Gore and Kerry. I knew we were in trouble from the moment ‘compassionate conservative(ism)’ spilt from his unread mouth. Same as his ‘No New Taxes Liberal Dad’.
Never, ever trust a RINO. They lie to Republicans and conservatives and are trustworthy friends to Democrats.
