Obama's 'safe schools czar' acts up: Even more troubling news about Kevin Jennings

The only safe thing that can be said about President Obama's "safe schools czar," Kevin Jennings, is that he's completely inappropriate for an important White House appointment. Mr. Jennings has a long, troubling history, but the list just got a little longer with the information that he's a long-time member of the extremist homosexual organization ACT UP (AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power).

On Oct. 11, 2008, Jeff Davis, Mr. Jennings "partner" of 15 years, described their first meetings: "The first few interactions were challenging for both of us. He was a member of Act Up. Act Up! So it's like - you know - here's a big gay activist."

ACT UP's demonstrations in the late 1980s and early 1990s centered on vandalism of churches, businesses and homes as well as disrupting public events. The Catholic Church was a favored target because it opposes same-sex marriage and the distribution of condoms. From New York to Los Angeles, activists disrupted Catholic Masses and desecrated Holy Communion, which Catholics believe is the body of Christ. . . . .

These are the guys who went up the aisle in Catholic Church, pretending to be faithful members, and than SPAT on the Communion Host right there in the Church, starting in on disruptive yelling and slogans.

This is no different than a cross burning on the lawn of a black Baptist church in rural Alabama.

Anybody in a Republican Administration who was found out to be a member of the White Citizens Council or Ku Klux Klan, would be GONNNNNNNE in a New York Minute.

Anybody wonder if THIS buzzard in the current White House will keep his job??

I confess to having a warm place in my heart for the ACT-UP guys who threw ketchup (which was mistaken for blood) on the FDA brass as they emerged from their fiefdom in Rockville.

Yes, it was crass and arguably assault, but they nonetheless succeeded in forcing FDA to allow folks to import drugs from overseas. Drugs that we cant get here due to our life-destroying drug approval process and this screwy agency.

For this, I have to give them credit.

And as to his silence as a teacher in the face of known sexual abuse, if my wife (a high school teacher) did nothing in such a situation, she'd be marched out of her classroom (and her career) in 60 seconds.
