Government is awesome, I mean, what would we do without it?

At least we are safe from global warming now. Whew, what a relief...

Sheesh, how many Americans understand this, and that whatever we do with emissions, etc. will not do squat to the global climate?

These taxes won’t matter. When Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchisen gets her way with amnesty, there won’t be jobs left for Americans. We’ll all be on welfare.

Not only will cap and tax boost gasoline taxes, but will also boost electric rates by nearly 50%. Imagine the effect on food prices when higher fuel prices and higher electric rates are added in. Many energy intensive businesses may just relocate to other countries with lower utility rates. I also expect that the production of gasoline will be limited by cap and tax.

Imagine the anger of the American people as they can no longer afford to heat or air condition their homes and they are standing in long lines for a ration of $4+ per gallon gasoline. What will members of Congress tell their constituents? If they think the anger they saw at the town hall meetings this summer was bad, worse is yet to come.

No kidding. Remember when gas got up to 4.50 and folks cut back on their consumption of gasoline? Then, unintended consequences here, state and local tax plunder went down. The pirates that tax gasoline started whining about their tax take was down. This tax is designed to force (there’s that word again) the American taxpayer into eco death trap clown cars. Then, the higher milage cars are stopping at the gas pump less, meaning less taxes. These morons are going to impose a federal tax and lessen the amount of taxes taken in by the states and locals. Then they will use that income to fund fairy/pixie dust bs wind and solar projects. These people are educated WAY beyond their intelligence.

Congress will impose a massive new national gas tax on the American people.

"The president was clear during the campaign about his commitment on not raising taxes on middle-class families," White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Monday afternoon. "I don't think any economist would believe that, in the environment that we're in, that raising taxes on middle-class families would make any sense."

Oh fabulous! A dollar per gallon. Gee, if it gets a bit windy near the Gulf of Mexico the price of oil skyrockets by dollars per gallon.

No surprise really on the impact on gas from C+T. Wait until we get a gander at our electric bills. Everything we buy will cost more. Cap and Tax will turn the USA into a 3rd world nation. We all knew that when we first heard of this most stupid and destructive of liberal tax and control schemes. Liberal voters are not informed on how this eco-nut, feel good about being “green” Cap and Tax bill will impact their LIVES. They’ll be stunned, we will not. Our warnings will go unheeded.

When the entire economy grinds to a halt, then the dems in power will be happy. The utopia of liberalism will have been achieved. Total destruction of America is their goal. They must be stopped.

For many, gasoline is a mandatory expense. And this legislation disproportionately hits middle and lower income households that tend to have longer commutes to work and must drive in order to work. These families will be hit especially hard by the projected $1 per gallon increase for the additional gas tax the cap-and-trade legislation will bring.

This, as I see it, was the fulcrum of last year's tipping point into economic decline - poor and moderate-income households with mortgages they couldn't really afford had to choose between buying $4.50 a gallon gasoline in order to get to work in their 10-year-old low-MPG beater cars, and paying their mortgage.

It’s worse than $1 a gallon. It will destroy our economy. Which is the intent, btw.
