On Tuesday, another prominent media member challenged the White House strategy of attacking the Fox News Channel.
This time up at the plate was ABC's Jake Tapper who asked White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs during today's gaggle:
It’s escaped none of our notice that the White House has decided in the last few weeks to declare one of our sister organizations “not a news organization” and to tell the rest of us not to treat them like a news organization. Can you explain why it’s appropriate for the White House to decide that a news organization is not one?

It’s funny how Obama and his minions never targeted Beck when he was employed by CNN and their arm, HLN......
I guess since the WH doesn’t ‘control’ FOX News, they’ve decided to ‘bypass that filter’.
Jake Tapper is (IMO) one of the very few true journalists in the WH press corps.
Wouldn’t it be interesting if the other news organizations suddenly realized that there are viewers (and therefore $$$$$) for news organizations that ask tough cynical queations of a shaky communist administration — and demanded that more Jake Tappers step up to the plate?
If that were to happen, the look on Gibb’s gay little pink face would be precious. And Axholerod would blow a bearing.
And Bambi would be finished.

Amen. I hadn’t seen it.
Tapper is trying to explain this to his colleagues.
Too many of his colleagues are so partisan that they don’t see the slippery slope the are riding on.
It’s a short trip from the current level of criticism to the revocation of White House press credentials. The Fox war is about government control of the press.
What will be even more interesting is when/if the media actually wakes up one morning and realizes:
When they came for Fox news, I said nothing, because I didn’t work for fox news (or Jake Tapper)
Its going to be fun and sad at the same time as one by one “journalists” and Newspeak programs start to report a little negatively and POOF, there was no one left to speak for them.........

WH knows the vast majority of the media will fall into line and follow orders.

When ABC starts defending Fox News you know the White House is in trouble

“Gibbs: You and I should watch sometime around 9 o’clock tonight. Or 5 o’clock this afternoon.”
To which Tapper should have replied “Ok let’s watch it here together. It’s a date then?”
Exactly. Thank god someone else gets that this is not just a snarky skirmish. The Obama regime is setting the table for followup action, based on planting the meme that Fox isn't news media. And if they are not news media, then they are not eligible for certain priviliges, and they are not protected by certain rights.
These rat-bastards are not just playing footsie. They want Fox off the air.
Spot the difference: Obama Administration, Hugo Chavez Administration.
If so, that shows more sense than I usually credit the average whornalist.
