Scozzafava calls cops on reporter who asked her about Card Check
Washington Examiner (not the blog) ^ | 10/20/2009 | Mark Tapscott

Posted on 10/20/2009 5:10:09 AM PDT by markomalley

John McCormack is a reporter working for The Weekly Standard. Dede Scozzafava is the extremely liberal New York Assemblywoman running as a Republican to succeed Rep. John McHugh from the Empire State's 23rd congressional district in the upcoming special election.

Scozzafava was speaking at a GOP dinner Monday evening. McCormack was reporting on Scozzafava's campaign, including her recent pledge to the AFL-CIO to support Big Labor's top legislative objective, the Card Check proposal - currently stalled in Congress -  to abolish the secret ballot in workplace representation elections.

Scozzafava apparently didn't appreciate being asked about her support of Card Check because after she left and McCormack went to his laptop to file a report on the evening's event, the police showed up. What happened next is .... well, here's McCormack's description:

"Minutes later a police car drove into the parking lot with its lights flashing. Officer Grolman informed me that she was called because 'there was a little bit of an uncomfortable situation' and then took down my name, date of birth, and address.

"'Maybe we do things a little differently here, but you know, persistence in that area, you scared the candidate a little bit,' Officer Grolman told me. '[Scozzafava] got startled, that's all,' Officer Grolman added. 'It's not like you're in any trouble.'"

In thug politics, this is what they call "delivering a little message." You're not in trouble, this time. Go here for the rest of McCormack's report on an evening that says everything about why Scozzafava epitomizes the worst symptoms of Republican Disease.

How is she going to handle the pressures of being a US rep if she won’t even take a question from a reporter?? How is she going to stand up to Pelosi, Hoyer and their goons when she panics in a situation like this? Absurd.

..."there is no difference in the real agendas of both the Democratic Party and the Republicans at the top levels"

I agree with that.

Got on a thread yesterday, and this just rings true....it is no longer dem versus repub, or conservative versus liberal....it is now producer versus parasite, with the politicans being at the top of the parasite chain...all this political crap is designed to keep the masses confused and at war with each other, thereby allowing the parasites to remain in control. The tea parties are evidence of this fascade starting to fall apart, with lib and conservative, dem and repub marching together against the parasites. We are in a war with the parasites and the only way to win is to deny them what they desire most, money...general strike across the nation will accomplish this goal in less than 2 weeks

Had Fox on with no volume and saw that Hannity had Newt on. What is the ONE QUESTION we would ask Newt? Why are you supporting this person?? My guess is that Hannity DID NOT ASK him?

There's no evidence she would fight them on much of anything anyhow.

In an earlier article, “Scozzafava Calls the Cops (GOP candidate calls cops on Weekly Standard reporter),” John McCormack, the actual reporter who was involved, tells the whole story. He asked several questions of Scozzafava, and even approached her as she was leaving the event, in the parking lot. I’m not defending Scozzafava (Scuzzobama?) here, but McCormack was a bit more persistent than this article portrays. I think that is good, actually. At least he is trying to get answers.

Please, send Hoffman a donation (or use PayPal). I wish we would get behind him as strongly as we got behind Joe Wilson last month.

Markos Moulitsas, founder of The Daily Kos has endorsed Scozzafava. Dede Scozzafava has also been endorsed by NYSUT, the largest labor union in New York, and an affiliate of the National Education Association.

Scozzafava also holds these positions:

Scozzafava has also run in past elections on the Working Families Party (a progressive party associated with ACORN) line on the ballot.

This lady isn’t a RINO, she is a big “R” libeRal democRat.

There are also 17 RINOs in the house who have donated funds to this LibeRal democRat's campaign. They include Boehner and Cantor. I don’t have a full list, but I will be looking for it. These RINOs should be targeted for elimination in the primaries next year.

Newt has screwed everything .... ever since he did the billy Butt boy thing and let the brains in the end of his crank do the thinking.

A total worthless, Richard Cranium. Surprised anybody pays attention to him (except Hannity)

If we called the police on candidates who “startle” us, we’d get put in jail.

In a certain sense, Newt is like Obama — he says things which sound good, but if you pay attention to this actions, he's appalling.

* Pro choice * In favor of gay marriage * In favor of Cap and Trade (I need to check my sources on this. Newt said she opposed this) * In favor of Employee Free Choice Act (Card Check) * In favor of the Stimulus * In favor of Bank Bailouts

The irony is that in the end - which is coming soon in economic terms - the parasites are doomed. If we producers win, they will be cut off. If they win, we are dead or broke, and parasites starve when the hosts die.

So the only real question is will we survive, because their end is inevitable.

As far as I can tell, it is just which letter you capitalize. Bill Owens, Democrat, or Dede Scozzafava, libeRal democRat.

Re: Newt

“...he says things which sound good, but if you pay attention to this actions, he's appalling.”

Absolutely right. He is a walking contradiction. There is now way that someone who says what he says (sometimes the most brilliant conservative statements) and then acts the way he does is sincere in what he says.

This is true. Newt talks a good game, but in the end, he’s just another politician.

How could anyone with conservative values want to put this woman into office...especially when she hasn’t even said that she WON’T switch parties once elected.

If this woman is (quoting Newt) the future of the party, then it truly is time to form a new party.
