Excuse me, but how the **** does voting for a Conservative Party over a pro-gay, pro-abortion, socialist help Obama win in 2012?

Exactly!

One of the few things New York does right is that the thriving third parties can run their own candidates or endorse the major party ones, allowing the voter to indicate that even if he supports the Republican candidate, for example, he is doing it through the Conservative line on the ballot. Or, if the GOP runs a liberal, they can run their own candidate.

When the NY GOP ran Pierre Rinfret in 1990, Conservative Party candidate Herb London came VERY close to beating Rinfret for second place, which would have meant that the Conservative Party would have replaced the Republican Party in having "Major Party" status in New York State. Anyone who doesn't think that that would have caught some attention is not playing with a full deck!

If the idiotic Right to Life party had supported the Pro-Life London instead of running their own candidate, Louis P. Wein, or if a quaerter of the voters for Wein had gone for London, London would have made it into second spot and furthered their agenda. If that had happened, the Conservative Party would have been moved up to the second line on the next ballot, they would have been able to have election commissioners in each county, etc.

So the problem wasn't a "third party" but a "fourth party." The lesson is to run your own candidate when the more major candidate doesn't support your views, but when he does, then endorse him.

Splits the “Conservative” vote in the general election.

The way to win is take the RINO out in the primary.

If the local party bosses do not allow a contested primary then work to change the local party bosses.

I’m in NC. Obama won NC by less than 25,000 votes. Barr got 25,000 votes in the general election.

I think he is referring to the Clinton and little fart from Dallas crud that ushered Clinton right into office.

When faced with with a no-win situation of voting for a true conservative v/s a Republicrat or a Democrat, well the answer is easy.

Republican or Republicrat? No real difference.

Ping and double ping. I think these people who continue to insist that voting for any Pubbie—RINO, outright socialist or whatever—is betten than having a demrat in the office are delusional.

Voting for a RINO is voting for a demrat by another name.

And the fact that this Scottafava woman is running as Pubbie proves my point. NJ Pubbies are just the same as NY Pubbies. Not a conservative in the lot.

Ever hear of a guy named George Wallace?

Third party efforts have almost always caused the election of the opponent to whichever party from which the candidate split. Pretty much a kamikaze effort that allows simpletons some pleasure during a campaign.
