Karl Rove Accuses Obama of Deliberately Destabilizing Afghanistan
Monday, October 19, 2009 | Kristinn

Karl Rove, former top adviser to President George W. Bush, bluntly accused President Barack Obama of deliberately "destabilizing" the government of Afghanistan, in an interview this morning on the Fox News Channel.

Rove said Obama sent Democratic party henchman James Carville to help the campaign of one of President Hamid Karzai's opponents for the August presidential election.

An article by NPR last summer says Carville's strategy was to drag the election in to a runoff to aid his candidate, former World Bank official Ashraf Ghani.

Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel made remarks this weekend that questioned whether the Obama administration would send more troops to Afghanistan if the Karzai government remained in power, reported here by Politico:

"Do you have a credible Afghan partner for this process that can provide the security and the type of services that the Afghan people need?" Emanuel said the Obama White House is asking as it conducts a strategy review before answering Gen. Stanley McChrystal's request for more troops.

You Tube video of Rove here.

Transcript (by yours truly) of Rove's comments:

Take a look at what this administration has done. They have destabilized the Afghan government by saying you know what we're not certain that Karzai is a good partner for us.

And the Obama administration sent in James Carville, Democrat party operative, in order to handle the campaign of Karzai's opponent. And then they express surprise when Karzai is trying to cut side deals with the remaining warlords and regional powers in Afghanistan in order to make certain he has a power base if the Americans pull the rug out from underneath him.

I mean its really unusual that this administration is so quick to criticize the Bush administration when they are really destabilizing the regime in Afghanistan in a fundamental way.

Watch our military get abused and turned from the best fight forces in the history of the world into what Carter did to our military.

I thought the exact same thing when I read the headline! Karl Rove does NOT shoot from the hip and say stupid things because of emotion. This is big NEWS, REALLY BIG NEWS and absolutely shameful on Obama’s part, but then I would not expect anything else!!!

Karl Rove never did anything remotely similar to "kissing Obama's backside."

I'm glad your proud of your deliberate use of vulgarity to state an untruth, but it doesn't change the fact that your first response to the horror of what Obama is doing to Afghanistan and our troops in harm's way was to take a cheap shot at Karl Rove.

As I said, I sometimes wonder where you BDS'ers loyalties really lie. It doesn't seem to be in opposition to Obama first and foremost. If you oppose Obama more than you do Rove and Bush, you hide it well.

I expect exactly what I see, Kevin.

Hatred of Bush and Republicans supercedes opposition to Obama and Marxists every time.

Whatever happened in the past is gone, we need to do something right now! This is about our military sitting in a war zone, with horrific rules of engagement and letting them be Taliban targets and our President not giving them anything unless certain conditions are met and then actively disrupting those conditions!!!! I don’t give a rat’s ass what anyone DID at this moment! I only care about what is going on RIGHT NOW with those Marines and Soldiers trying to survive while these %$#$##$$’s dither! That POS never had any intention of fighting the Taliban!

Obama is also attempting to destabilize Honduras by suspending US aid, forcing Honduran diplomats to leave the U.S. and refusing to recognize the current government. Such meddling often has unexpected consequences. Kennedy supported the Diem coup in Vietnam. He not only got blood on his hands but made the U.S. responsible for the RVN's future by removing its head of state. Jimmy Carter gave in to anti-Shah factions in Iran and helped give birth to modern Islamic fascism, terrorism, and 30 years of totalitarianism for the Iranian people. Obama is a political idiot savant. He's good at speaking and campaigning but somebody from the Chicago Daley machine has to tie Obama's shoes and remind him to lift the toilet seat before he whizzes.

I dislike how being intelligent makes a person automatically suspect of being evil and devious. If Rove helped Bush through, good for him. GW had some fantastic minds help him out and this is all a game to Zero. I do not think that the Saudis are really backing Zero. They must think Zero is crazy and no matter how much he might be Muslim, it doesn’t mean that the Saudis trust him enough to think that Zero won’t lash out at him.

I don’t know if Zero is so much an idiot as cleverly catering to the specific sets of people he needs to marhsal to keep power and start carrying out whatever demented plans he has. The fact remains is that fundamentally the interests of the Saudis and US are intertwined.

America falls, economically or otherwise, the Saudis won’t have anyone to export oil to. The Chinese won’t have anyone buying their stuff. If America gets into the hands of Islamists, then the Islamic nutjobs will have nukes ready for them at the various facilities in this country. The Saudis are the first target for those headcases and they (the Saudis)know it. Zero is their man, any president is their man as long as the US keeps the Islamos off of them and away from their throats.

The Saudis at worst want us to do the dirty work of keeping the ‘herd’ thinned, not entirely extinct. If Zero starts a full blown reign of terror/genocide against the citizenry of this country, then someone (Mossad or internals or the generals) will step in and put us back on our feet. A lot of world leaders have an interest in keeping us on top because if we fall and become Third World like them, then they can’t scapegoat us as the fount of all evil.

Zero fails to realize that he is not at all indispensible, but rather extremely expendible if it comes to that. Too many people have been very disposable in the view of long term strategists and very few who truly keep things going and without which the world/country would be unable to function. Zero is in the former category.

No, I am afraid I can’t give Michael Steele any credit: what you’re citing as political accomplishments (doing good things for Republicans in heavily Democratic Maryland, for instance) may be a big deal for someone who’s in the local Party, or who has someone in line to get some blandishments from this new political order, or what-have-you. There is NOTHING I have heard from or about Michael Steele since he became RNC chair that shows he’s anywhere near to understanding what’s going on with the new constituency that’s forming and that is barely less suspicious and contemptuous of the Republican Party than it is the Democratic Party. Every statement from Steele is more disappointing than the last, and shows me he’d probably love to find a way to exploit the new constituency for RINO ends, but secretly knows we aren’t going to let him do it. He is a FOOL, waaaaaaay behind the learning curve in 2008-2009, and someone is going to tell him to get out of the way, or risk becoming the pinup boy for the Democrats and their agenda. SO far he is fulfilling that-—people like him and John McCain, allowed to continue dominating the Party through an ongoing Media-induced barrage of propaganda, have become the Left’s useful idiots: their tattered identity is composed entirely of what’s left of their pride and integrity as they willingly play the role of being “the hated objects” of the Left: in fact they function as the Left’s enablers.

The biggest problem is about not understanding the mentalities of the people and country he seeks to influence or listening to people who do. None of these idiots understood the past history and how it affects current actions by the citizenry of these countries.

It is beyond insane. These left wing lunatics are telling the Afghan people to rebel against their own government and not to expect a brutal civil war there where our troops will be stuck right there in the middle?

Obama the coward cannot make any tough decision. Our enemies know that he is a coward with zero leadership and they are greatly emboldened by that. All hell broke loose in Afghanistan in the last eight months because the terrorist enemies there saw that Obama is a coward who cannot do anything and they decided to go on the attack.

When the going gets tough the tough gets going but cowards like Obama run away.

Karzai’s reelection problems are suspiciously similar to Norm Coleman’s in Minnesota.

You are a perfect example of what’s wrong with most pubs. If somebody doesn’t agree with your position 100% of the time, you’re ready to throw them overboard. It is YOU, not Rove, not Hannity, who is the problem.

Grow up and wake up.
