The VEPR rifle and carbine were the same except for the barrel length. The rifle has a 23.25" barrel and the carbine has a 20.50" barrel. Both have a checkered walnut thumbhole stock and forearm. They were imported with a black leather sling, black leather gun case,5rd mag,10rd mag, cleaning kit, cleaning rod, black plastic oil bottle, and manual. Both rifle and carbine have a scope mount rail on the left side of the receiver. A detachable scope mount was offered as a option.
Thanks for posting that Pontiac.
Baikal handgun
That gun looks like a piece of junk.
Its Russian.
What do you expect?
Kind of looks like a knock off of a Berretta Tomcat.
UNDER reinforced concrete?
Sounds more like they were trying to permanently dispose of them rather than hiding them for future nefarious deeds.
It's probably a big reason why Russian hunters need to buy costly, large, vicious dogs in addition to their rifles.
Under reinforced concret SLABS.
I checked with a Christian Missionary who helped build a Church near by and he wrote and I quote:
“I’ve been to Dzerzhinsk, about a 40 minute train ride from Nizhny Novgorod where I lived. Sounds like a typical weapon stash that the owner of a construction site might have for self protection.” (Bill Frazer;)
Bingo.
Self-protection from the Russian Mafia demanding “protection” pay offs???
I'd say more like a Makarov, which is a Russian, (Eastern Bloc) version of a Walther PP.
I have ex East German one. It was used by the Stassi. And the 9x18 much better than the .32 ACP in the Walther PP and a bit better than the .380 PPK. The Mak is a good inexpensive handgun.
Makarov: the last-best COM-BLOC handgun?
This Walther PP wanna'-be offers-up some Soviet-surprises.
The Mak has somewhat of a cult following. Us Mak owners love em. And we can still get an extended screw end barrel for mounting 'accessories' like that suppressor. (but of course, only legally)
Now, now. Looks have nothing to do with it. Don't be a 'gun snob' ;-)
I don't know if you meant the rifle, pistol or both. But I think they both look fine. (and NO offense is meant)
This is the kind of stash everyone should have “off site” in case you have no choice but to bug out to fight another day.
