Will 'Antichrist' come to your neighborhood? Petition to stop 'the most horrific movie ever seen'
World Net Daily ^ | October 17th, 2009 | Drew Zahn

Already dubbed "the most horrific movie ever seen" for explicit and pornographic sadomasochism, violence and occult content, the film "Antichrist" is not yet rated, but when it is, the rating it gets could determine whether or not it's seen in your local theater – and there may be something you can do about it.

The Christian media ministry MovieGuide is inviting people concerned about the film's gruesome and graphic content to join a petition of the Motion Picture Association of America to rate the movie NC-17, which would not only prevent children from viewing the film, but also dissuade many theaters from showing it.

"Coming to your local theater Oct. 23 is a movie that I can only call the most horrific movie ever seen," writes Dr. Ted Baehr, founder and publisher of Movieguide and chairman of the Christian Film & Television Commission. "It's called 'Antichrist,' and it's filled with a wicked worldview, vile pornographic scenes

I never saw the Exorcist and I slept with the light on for a month! I was petrified of the devil and I was 10 when it came out.

"I don't think I have to justify it," responded von Trier. "I work for myself and I do this little film that I am now kind of fond of. I haven't done it for you or an audience,..."

OK, then my family and I certainly won't be watching.

I like a good bloody, scary movie...Halloween and all that. The scariest movie I’ve ever seen though was Natural Born Killers. That movie was completely disturbing to no end and there’s no way I would ever watch it again. Talk about gore!

Before I read this thread, I hadn’t heard anything about this flick (yes I live in a remote village at the edge of the universe), but if Antichrist comes by the local theater - I may try to talk a few masocistic friends into movie night.

I've seen Salo, and I doubt this film approaches it.

The Descent

I watched the unedited director's cut (with different ending) at home by myself in the dark. That movie scared the living s**t outta me!

I watched it again with my wife and she thought it was stupid. Horror, like comedy, requires you to be in the right mood.

Thought maybe some would have learned that after “Last Temptation of Christ”.. would have died a quick and obscure death if not for the Protests.. It proves ALL Publicity is good publicity, just spell the Name Right!!!

According to MovieGuide’s review of the film, Defoe’s newest effort includes demonic activity, full nudity and graphic on-screen depictions of sex, sadomasochism, sexual mutilation with both a block of wood and a pair of scissors, child abuse, and violent animal acts.

Exchange the child abuse with midgit abuse and that sounds like a typical weekend at Humble's place.

I already saw half of the movie on the net last month - it was gross, artsy fartsy and not that great - didn’t bother seeing the rest of it...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doomsday_%28film%29

Doomsday is a post-apocalyptic 2008 British science fiction action film written and directed by Neil Marshall. The film takes place in the future, where Scotland has been quarantined due to the onset of a deadly virus. When the virus breaks out in London, political leaders send Major Eden Sinclair (Rhona Mitra) to Scotland to find a cure based on evidence of survivors. Sinclair and her team run into two groups of survivors: marauders and medieval warriors. Doomsday was conceived by Marshall based on his vision of a futuristic soldier facing a medieval knight. In producing the film, he drew from various cinema, including Mad Max, Escape from New York, and other similar post-apocalyptic films.

In an interesting twist, the Cannes Film Festival gave the film an anti-award. Even the notoriously jaded film industry veterans couldn’t stand it.
