Federal Communications Commissioner Robert McDowell is criticizing statements by FCC Chief Diversity Officer Mark Lloyd that he says are troubling indications of a penchant for regulating free speech.
In his 2006 book Prologue to a Farce: Communication and Democracy in America, Lloyd wrote that public broadcasting outlets should be funded at a level commensurate with or above those spending levels at which commercial operations are funded.
He said the funds should come from license fees charged to commercial broadcasters the same commercial broadcasters" that would have to compete with these public broadcasting outlets, CNSNews.com reported.
I find such ideas troubling, McDowell told CNSNews.com. Certainly, he has a right to express them. The chairman, as CEO of the commission, has, I guess, a right to employ him. And Ive been told by him and the chairman that hes working on other matters not related to those issues.

I find it outrageous and retarded.
If the founding fathers thought about regulating the paper pulp industry based on the possibility that the paper may be used to print newspapers that speak either in favor or against politicians, the only paper produced these days would be for the printing of pro-Obama propaganda. The FCC needs to stick to technical regulation of the airwaves, and not the politics of media message manipulation.
...but who will be under the bus first - McDowell or Lloyd?
Troubling? Good grief...

Is there any one of his Czars that isn’t troubling? Just one that isn’t a socialist? The people of this country elected a Marxist and now he is making his ideology a reality.
“Troubling” is to Lloyd
as
“Concerning” is to Van Jones and the rest of Bambi’s Marxists.
So, what happened to the Repubbies demanding an investigation of Czars? Othen than Beck’s show, very little is “hitting the fan” now.
Response: A huge assumption is contained in this statement.
Browner quietly resigned from the World Socialist organization in January of this year, shortly before Obummer appointed her a czarina.
