The French are a ‘pair-a-ducks’.

I ain’t too keen on Sarkozy embracing global varming.. especially ironic that France is peppered with nuke power plant.

I do agree he has brought some sanity back to some of the gubamint. and a relative or two as well. ;-)

I will go with Gen McChrystal’s estimate. If he says counterinsurgency is the way to win this war, then he has far more boots on the ground than I do.

There are several dangers with a Taliban government:

...9/11 taught one of them

...the Taliban push toward Pakistan’s nukes is another

...They would be another radical Islamic government in the region to go along with Iran, increasing the prestige of jihad islam in the minds of muslims worldwide.

Sarko is slapping Obama on the cheek with a glove to try to wake him up. Why should he send French soldiers to the war theater to be sacrificed on the altar of cowardly political indecision?

Which reminds me, the graphic of the bunny wearing a pancake should be put on leave temporarily and replaced with a pic of Obummy with a waffle on his head.

We should’t, and if we aren't there to win, and don't plan to provide the people and resources to do so, we shouldn't stay there at all. It's not fair to the troops there now.

I know veterans of other Nato missions who told me the European soldiers definitely DO NOT have to risk their lives following our BS rules of engagement. Is that true for the other nato forces in ‘Stan now?

When a principled general is willing to stand up and be counted, then I’m going to listen to what he has to say.

It’s probably essential that we defeat the Taliban once and for all, not because of Obama, and maybe despite him. We probably need to do it to keep America safe.

Wish it weren’t so, but it looks like it is.

Here’s what I don’t understand; everyone’s reaction to France is “I wouldn’t send troops either” yet we aren’t calling for immediate withdrawal of our own guys. WTF?

The current rules of engagement are almost designed to ensure more of our young men die on the battlefield while AP photographers snap pictures.

The Commander in Chief, if you can call him that, isn't interested in winning or bothering to take time away from his busy schedule to make decisions about this conflict.

Congress isn't too concerned with the war. $2.6 billion was recently diverted from guns and ammunition for troops to pay for politicians’ pet projects.

Given those conditions, and assuming they won't change, then we should withdraw our troops. We all know how this story ends.
