The totally dependent, helpless and lazy moochers from New Orleans can’t do anything on their own. It’s been 4 years and they still have their hand out wanting freebies. What a disgrace.

New Orleans literally stinks. I think it is the swamps, the decay, the immmorality, at what point does one decide the city is no longer able to be rebuilt...when it sinks another 5 ft. below sea level?

... spirited crowd ...Hmmm... hmmm... hmmm... I did not see much spirit in the local TV shots.

Very, very high profile situation.
Four years after Katrina, and the federal government, the state government, and the local government have not been able to get the job done.
How about the World Trade Center?
Again, 9/11 was a very, very high profile situation.
8 years after the event, we have no replacement buildings, we just have a hole in the ground, because the government can't get the job done.
Hey! I have an idea! Why don't we hand over the Auto industry, the Insurance industry, the Banking industry, the Energy industry, and the Healthcare industry to the government!
That'll work -- right?

It’s been 4 years and they’re still waiting for someone to help them? I would think that the $70 Billion we sent to repair the $40 Billion in damage would have been enough. Apparently it wasn’t enough to cover the 400% graft and corruption charge.

I think by the year 2109 we ought to be in a position to start talking about reparations for decendents of the victims of Katrina and the Bush Administration.

Why would Mr. Obama send his cabinet members instead of his czars? Just wondering.

to praise the city's spirit and its example for rest of the nation. The totally dependent, helpless and lazy moochers from New Orleans cant do anything on their own. Its been 4 years and they still have their hand out wanting freebies.
That is precisely what he is praising.

Why was all this garbage unable to get out of New Orleans when warned, and yet all that same garbage made it to the inuguration?

Notice that Obama said "together we can" because he surely can't accomplish anything on his own.
