Rescuers are tracking and chasing a "homemade flying saucer" that is in flight with a 6-year-old, by himself, on board.
The incident started this morning in Fort Collins when the boy got into the balloon-like device, which was built by an adult, and it came loose from a tether, according to the Larimer County Sheriff's Office.
The contraption could rise as high as 10,000 feet, the sheriff's office said.
The home-made flying saucer was last seen in flight over Weld County.
The sheriff's office is working the Federal Aviation Administration to determine how to best get the boy down.

LOL... I had one child that hid that well, too!
The silly little girl would hide, and then go to sleep all scrunched up in the most impossibly small spots- had to search every box and cupboard!
Her favorite place to go to take her afternoon nap when she was four was a 2’x2’x3’ toybox... with lots of toys still in it.
CPS becoming involved.........That would be a fitting ending to this story
These kids are pretty young and many YUPPIES have two story homes now days.
Look for the youtube just posted and see that these weren't average kids.
Why do the two older boys in that photo look like they just got caught shooting the neighbors cat with a pellet rifle?
They were trying to shovel out the helium?
Dude ...
What the hell was Joe Biden doing with Baby Jessica?
I don’t wish that on anyone unless they are truly abusing (physical, sexual) your family. Sorry being a stupid parent doesn’t qualify.
Glad to know dad had a normal reaction ..
[How long until the MSM focus ruins the family of the child? ]

Looks like the parents are already doing a good job of that.
Sad to see.
Some kids have a real talent to hide well. I can easily see a child managing to hide in their own home from a fairly well done police search successfully. I don’t blame the cops here at all for failing to win the game of hide’n’seek.
You're not a science type are you?
I agree, Child Protection Service may be quite interested in them now.
did you watch their you tube video?
It’s not very Christian actually - and shows horrible judgement
What type of supervision did these kids have?
LOL, yeah, that was an epic game of hide and seek for Falcon.
Reported a few minutes ago that the police are not going to make the family pay for the search.
echoed from another thread:
What did Congress do while we were riveted by this story, I wonder?
Gosh you are such an optimist, lol. If the kid had been in it, he couldn't ‘see’ anything after closing the little door. He'd just have been bounced around and cold!
Again, horrible judgement and non Christian values are no reason to take children from parents which is what happens when CPS gets involved. I don’t know what kind of supervision they had but unless they were abused, CPS should stay out of it. It looks to me like the family is wild and free spirited and that they don’t discipline their children at all. I wouldn’t let my children play with their children but I also don’t see signs of abuse (from what I saw today). They like the spotlight too much.
All three kids are in it together.
