WASHINGTON – A second Republican senator signaled Wednesday she's open to voting for sweeping health care legislation this year, putting President Barack Obama closer to a historic achievement that has eluded generations of Democratic leaders.

But Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, told The Associated Press that the bill approved Tuesday by the Finance Committee needs substantial improvements to make coverage more affordable, contain costs, and protect Medicare. Nevertheless, she joined her Maine GOP colleague Sen. Olympia Snowe in endorsing the goal of far-reaching changes.

Well GO FIGURE!!!!

Collins and Snowe would sign the Communist Manifesto if it was set in front of them.

Out of 'bipartisanship', y'see.

Let’s see them surrender their own medical plan to go with the “public option”.

Or is that not something the American Politburo wants?

Could have just as easily been titled, “Another GOP Senator Open To Government Takeover of Health Care.” But that would show a bias.

The Maine GOP needs to be decertified. Give it to Canada.

Most likely true. And the *most* disgusting thing of all is that the large majority of Maine's voters would approve of their having signed.

Maine needs to be sawed off our country and set adrift.

California, too.

There has to be someone in Maine who could run against these two losers in the primary.

If not, give Maine and New York City to Quebec and make them their own sovereign nation.

The way things are going in NH, we might as well toss in NH along with RI, Connecticut and New York.

Some people will push anyone under the bus in exchange for a TV camera. "Look at me! Look over here at me!"
The lefts Marxist media is already praising Snow. Collins wants her face in front of that camera, too.

Lets rewrite God Bless the USA for the liberals.

From Maine to California
From Oregon to DC
There’s a cancer simmering in the heart of every liberal from coast to coast

And they’re proud to hate Americans
.....?

I have met a few nice folks from NH, Vermont and Mass. But all the Maine folks I have met are brain-dead, more like Canadians than Americans. I agree the place has turned into a white trash cesspool of useless vampire class comprised of ex loggers, fisherman, drunks, ex hippies and gay antique shop owners. Screw that armpit. Maine Freepers, get out before it turns into Vermont.

Not voting for Collins last year was such a pleasure that it should be illegal.

Wait, it just might be here in the Peoples Republic.

The whole state has managed to go from a solid rock-ribbed Republican state to a minimum-security insane asylum in only a few generations.

Becoming a permanent ward of the state is actually a career goal here.
