We are on strike against the creed of unearned rewards and unrewarded duties. We are on strike against the dogma that the pursuit of one’s happiness is evil. We are on strike against the doctrine that life is guilt...

They will start drafting doctors I guess. This is not a government that smiles on personal freedom.

My family doctor, who I am seeing today, has already said that he will retire (prematurely) if this passes.
My good friend, who is my age (50), has already said that he will quit rather than submit.

They can’t quit! We have a constitutional right to health care don’t we?

Who’s going to go through the effort and expense of College, Medical School, Residency just to become a government employee? This 0bama crap sandwich still leaves them subject to bogus lawsuits, because heaven forbid we address tort reform.

NHS doctors go to the schools that the Government chooses. They go into the specialty (most are GPs though) that the Government chooses. They are required to practice where the Government tells them they are needed. The citizens pay for all this through their taxes. Americans are accustomed to having their freedom to choose all of these things. Why would many people choose to be owned by the Government? There will be a dearth of American doctors after the mass retirement. We will be cared for by foreigners who didn't go to medical school here. And we will have to wait days or weeks to be seen at all. Call your Senators and Reps now! We do not want Socialized Medicine in our great country!

Do they really think that the Obameinfuhrer will let them withhold their valuable skills from the proletariat...errr....I mean, government...no...I meant The People...yeah...that’s what I meant...The People?

There will be a Doctor Draft in the future to insure that they do their patriotic duty. Oh yeah. Nothing but the best possible medical care from doctors who are slaves!

The population will be adjusted to match the number of doctors available.

Another point noone is talking about is that when all these docs retire their staffs will be in the unemployment lines as well. If we were trying to practice with the new guidelines our payroll, benefits, charitable contributions and taxes would exceed our income. Noone can live it they work at a loss.

If this is passed, can you imagine the quality of future doctors that will make it into and out of med school based on politics rather than merit?

I still don't understand the requirement for professions to be licensed by the state in a free country, such as doctors or even beauticians.

Seems to me, once you've obtained the necessary education, licensing should be voluntary, like joining the BBB. It's a stamp of approval and helpful to those who want to purchase your services, but not a requirement for you to do business.

Licensing is just another way to take more money from us. It's not about protecting the consumer/patient. If you screw up, lawyers and even law enforcement will come after you whether we have license requirements or don't have them, so who is really being protected?

Come on, look on the bright side of this.

Thousands of freight cars will run 24/7 carrying the bodies of dead Democrats to mass unmarked government graves who will die because of their crappy lifestyle choices and sheer adaptive unsuitability isn't being counter-acted by the best private sector health care system in the world.

“would consider leaving their practice or taking an early retirement”

Old news!

I'm a graduate of United States medical school with 5 years of postgraduate training at top U.S. medical center-- And I retired at 53!

Lawsuits! (I was never sued.) The constant threat of lawsuits!

Regulations!

Non-stop assault on the profession! Non-stop harrassment!

Who needs that? I have never regretted my decision to quit.

Atlas started shrugging quite a few years ago.

When obamanasia becomes the law of the land, there's going to be a huge black market for emergency medical care.

Instead of back alley abortions, I an easily see back room appendectomies or other surgeries being done by some of these unemployed doctors.

Some times you have to break the law to do what's right.
