Fom inside...

"Alfred Nobel wrote that the prize should go to the person who has contributed most to the development of peace in the previous year," Jagland said.

Jagland seems confused. By describing Nobel's requirement was for actions in the previous year, Jagland decided to circumvent those strictures. And he still wants the "prize" to be taken seriously.

"All these things have contributed to — I wouldn't say a safer world — but a world with less tension," he said.

Apparently, they really do live in an entirely different world than we live in.

Because here in the real world, tensions are much higher, as Iran gets closer to having a nuclear bomb, our allies in eastern europe are scared to death of russian and Iran now that we cancelled their missile defense, Israel is preparing to be attacked by those "muslims" since America has "reached out" to them making them think they can get away with it, and it seems that the problems in the backworld countries like Somalia and others is still as bad as ever, just it's dropped off the radar because of all the new tension.

Not just construed — that’s what it was supposed to be, and has generally BEEN. It’s why the nominations are done by February 1st, to give people up to 1 month after the end of the year to get in their nominations, so the committee has a 8 months to evaluate what all the nominees did in the previous year.

Obama seems to be the first person to get picked solely for what they “did” AFTER they were nominated.

Which means that, if Obama had acheived World Peace last week, he wouldn’t get the nomination for next year, since they already GAVE the award for 2009 to Obama.

"All these things have contributed to — I wouldn't say a safer world — but a world with less tension," he said.

Notice the syntactic escape clause. This way if Russia nukes Poland, Jagland can say "I never said Obama made the world safer by banning a defensive missile shield".

This was an appropriate award for obuma at just the right time. It turned obuma into a joke, and when people are laughing at you it’s impossible to assert leadership.

Thank you, Oslo morons. You unknowingly did us a favor. Alinsky is pleased.

"Jagland singled out Obama's efforts to heal the divide between the West and the Muslim world and scale down a Bush-era proposal for an anti-missile shield in Europe.

"All these things have contributed to — I wouldn't say a safer world — but a world with less tension," he said."

So...maybe next year they could posthumously award the Peace Prize to Nevill Chamberlain.

Or the inventor of Valium or Novocaine.

Speaking of Alinsky Rules, I always make it a point, when criticizing Obama with liberals, to criticize him for his lack of generosity and compassion.

Generosity: His tax returns show that until he began running for President in 2006, his charitable giving was 1.1%, on a combined income of more than $1 million.

Compassion: Abortion. Illinois Senate Bill SB200 and his desire not to contradict "the original choice of the mother" when infants are born alive during an abortion procedure.

The Japanese Newsweek today does not agree with the committee: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2362027/posts [Title in thread gives translation as “Obama unworthy of Nobel Prize”]

Haven’t read the google piece yet; does it mention that Jagland, the chairman of the Peace Prize committee, is also a VP of Socialist International? Showing a bit of bias and wishful thinking is he, maybe?

At least this has flushed out the names and identities (and confirmed the bias) of the nincompoops who decide the award. The current committee members, by this decision to give it to Vain Hussein, have removed any prestige this award may have had under their regime/control. (Not that it had much after Arafat)

In other news, Obama being considered by the Vatican for sainthood even though he isn’t dead. First known case.

“To those who say a Nobel is too much too soon in Obama’s young presidency, “We simply disagree ... He got the prize for what he has done,”

This idiot is certifiable.

Awarded with a Nobel False Peace Prize for his contributions to advancing the globalist elite agenda, NOT for the benefit of humankind.

The prize, according to the commission of its founder,
is to be given to the person who did the most to promote peace

IN THE PREVIOUS YEAR.

That is, in 2008.

Please be sure to specify a little better. The Nobel science prizes have all been well deserved, in my recollection.

the NOBEL PEACE PRIZE is the completely ridiculous one.

It is obvious: Hussein Obama GOT the award because he was America’s first BLACK President.
