Are Stocks Ripe For Another Black Monday?

By Simon Maierhofer
Tuesday October 13, 2009

Investors usually see red when Wall Street has a 'black' day. There have been a number of black days, such as Black Monday, Black Thursday, Black Friday and Black Tuesday.

Even though the various black days have been spread out over centuries, there's one thing they all have in common. They arrived unexpectedly. If they were expected, they wouldn't be considered 'black.'

Black Mondays

In finance, Black Monday refers to Monday, October 19th, 1987. But did you know there were actually three Black Monday's?

It won’t happen again as long as Obama’s Fed has TARP funds to spend. Every time they see a downward turn, they start throwing cash into the system. They are manipulating the stock market. Soon or later they will run out of money.

The next black Monday will come when the dollar collapses.

But if the dollar collapses, the market will skyrocket - in worthless dollars. ;)

“if the dollar collapses”

Your observation is very valid.

Commodities might be similar, especially basic goods.

I am cautious to predict such a collapse, although Soros and the traders would love to make it happen.

If we are no longer a force in international trade, we will be missed in a veryt short time.

The 1987 “black monday” was not “unexepected” except in it’s severity. Friday had been bad, and we were already down hundreds of points in the prior two months.

It will hit around October 25th.

This time, it's not the market that collapses.

It's the dollar.

And that, boys and girls, isn't fixable. And it's just the start.

Yup. ~10,000 was the 50% retracement level.

Next stop, Dow 5000, but that's the *good* news.

The bad news? $500/bbl oil, food prices 10x what they are now, and no more shiny Chinese crap to buy at WalMart, because the Obama dollar is just an imaginary paper wet dream, and we're all about to wake up with a Federal rapist on top of us.

It will hit around October 25th.

Why do you think it will be Sunday 10/25? I've seen the date mentioned on various threads, but I'm not clear where this prediction is coming from. Can you explain a bit?

It's late enough in the game now that it doesn't matter if I spill the beans a little.

The 25th here will be Monday in parts of Asia, Australia, New Zealand.

The date comes from the "web bot" software developed at www.halfpasthuman.com

It's a fuzzy, new discipline - extracting (what seems to be) precognitive imagery from subconscious shifts in the archetypal linguistics being published on the Internet.

FReepmail me if you want to know more.

There's never been a black Wednesday, so it's due

So the market will crash 10/21 or 10/28!!!!
