WAKE UP AMERICA, GET OUT OF THE FETAL POSITION AND MAKE YOUR VOICES HEARD. Welcome to the GLENN BECK television thread...Shake the cobwebs out of your brain...We are another day closer to the REVOLUTION that will change the 2010 elections. All comrades, infidels, sick twisted freaks and lurkers are welcome and are encouraged to participate in the thread!
About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:
“A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.”
“A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.”
“From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.”
“The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years.”
“During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:
from bondage to spiritual faith;
from spiritual faith to great courage;
from courage to liberty;
from liberty to abundance;
from abundance to complacency;
from complacency to apathy;
from apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage”
In her 1805 History of the Rise, Progress and Termination of the American Revolution, Mercy Otis Warren sounded the same alarm. Her fear was that the rising generation, quickly growing rich, would forget God and the struggle for freedom. Her history was more a sermon than an objective analysis.
BECK is on here on the East coast @ 5pm where everyone is either still in work or in the middle of their commute home, I can only imagine what kind of numbers he’d pull if he was on @ 8pm, holy smokes!
We are certainly at that point...those voters are thieves.
Thank you and please accept my condolences on your loss.
Hi, rockabye. I was there... just not here. How are you doing? And, thanks for the note!
So sorry about this Carolyn. That is so hard. I had from April to August before my husband died. And I thank God for those four months. May God walk with you and comfort you. Do you have family nearby?
You have my prayers.
Did you read about the student who had a pro-life shirt on, being asked to leave school?
Something about abortion is not healthcare. LOL! Guess the truth hurts those who profess the lies.
The principal will have to answer for his actions some day down the road. (Maybe at the moment of his death?) LOL!
Thanks. I’m going to save that list!
Yes, I saw that about the prolife t-shirt and the principal........I had the same thought....as Ricki would say......”Lucy, you got some ‘splainin to do.”
I'm amazed how many people in town are coming forward and calling and telling me how shocked they are, that they just saw him and he looked great... even the people who worked on him in the hospital couldn't believe his age, he looked 15 years younger.. he didn't drink, smoke, do drugs and ate a healthy diet and was always, always busy... he was not one satisfied to sit and watch TV, he had to be doing something. He was a very talented artist and many businesses and homes around town are testaments to his talent.. he did it more for the love of creating than the money (he was retired)... I'm comforted by knowing we were as close the day he died as we were in the beginning of our relationship, we never did anything that did not include the other, neither of us ever had any desire to go out with the boys or the girls, we were a couple and always interacted socially as such... we were out to dinner Friday night with dear friends and he was so happy and telling us all how great he was feeling, how up he was about a couple of new commissions he was starting and how glad he was the remodel on our house was almost done...
Wow, Carolyn, what a testimonial.
Prayers for you as you walk through this grief into a new era of your life.
Oh yeah, me too!! Had to run yesterday...didn’t mean to ignore your post
LOL...no problem...sometimes the threads move so fast I can’t keep up. Lack of sleep makes my cognitive function so slow sometimes I completely miss posts to me. Happens so often I have a “disclaimer” on my home page ;)
