This bill will never see the Senate floor.
What will come to the floor will be much worse than Baucus. Snowe will have a chance to backpeddle then. No Republican will support a worse bill, Lieberman won’t either.
It might well be. Technically speaking, the whole bill is unconstitutional. Technically speaking SCOTUS ought to throw it right out the door. They can’t do that till it passes however. You see, they DO have the power of Judicial Review.
This fight is no where near over. I am not giving up yet. We have to hold out until May. Once the Primaries are over, no incumbent will touch this stuff with a 50 foot pole. Thats why they are trying to force it through ASAP.

Whatever bill they end up with will be an afterbirth and ostammer will sign it. It won’t go into effect until 2013. Between now and the 2010 election, they will spend every moment telling America how wonderful it is so they can hang onto their leadership positions. It’s going to take a gargantuan effort to undo this and, even if we took back both the House and Senate, it would take superior political craftsmanship to get ostammer to sign off on any provisions. Pubs simply do not have superior political craftsmanship. In addition, they’re jellyfish. Invertebrates absolutely lack what it takes to play hardball. The real over haul will only occur in 2013 if we can get this Marxist out of the WH.

I must admit I don't know enough about this, but I guess a bill can be as vague as the congresscritters want it to be, but has to have detail at final vote. I don't think we'll get to see the detailed bill until it is too late, because a House version (Bill 3200) got shot to pieces when it was posted on the internet. The Dems can't risk a repeat of that, so we get vague.
