Iraqi SWAT arrests 2006 sniper suspect
Multi-National Corps-Iraq PAO
RAMADI, Iraq - Elements of the Ramadi and Habbaniyah Iraq Special Weapons and Tactics teams, with U.S. Special Operations advisors, arrested an individual who is a suspect involved in multiple sniper shootings throughout Anbar Province Oct. 9 near Ramadi.
The Magistrate Court of Ar Ramadi issued a warrant for Abd al-Qadir Afan Qafes arrest after his alleged involvement in the fatal shooting of an Iraqi Army Soldier in 2006 and the shooting of a U.S. Soldier near the Ramadi library Sept. 30. Most of the recent shootings took place during reconstruction projects for the people of Ramadi.
He is believed to be funded by Syrians and allegedly involved with the Jihad and Change Front organization.
The success of this operation by the ISWAT commandos may bring the suspected terrorist to justice. It may also lead to the detainment of other individuals suspected to be involved in terrorist activities and may further the goals of Iraqs Rule of Law.

Thank you for the bumps, Jet Jaguar and Musicman.
That’s great news and I’m glad to hear it but I’m more interested in the Iraqis hearing it. Hopefully, Iraqi boys will grow up thinking ISWAT is the coolest for catching bad guys and keeping their country safe.
