...I didn't expect to be a crime victim on the streets of San Francisco. ... But it happened, on a beautiful evening this past weekend near Union Square. As crimes go, it could have been much worse. I was helping an elderly man when somebody sneaked up behind me and stole my garment bag. I lost a nice suit, a nice pair of shoes and overnight toiletries. Not the end of the world, but frustrating.
The real crime was the vulnerability of it all....

Where was Pelosi? Sounds like collecting reelection money.
Liberalism at its finest: homosexuals, homeless, criminals
The only time I was robbed in my lifetime was in San Francisco.
Market Street is scary at night.
The robber has just fallen through the cracks created in this society. We must spend more money to improve conditions in this country for poor folks like him.
Obama buddy who has been accused of “misdirecting” Federal funds and whose accuser has been filed by the OB
Being sarcastic of course.
A Twitter Engineer’s Epic Diss of ‘Disgusting’ San Francisco

Gavin Newsom loves Twitter. The San Francisco mayor is convinced his hometown microblogging service will change the world. How heartbreaking it must be, then, to read that a key Twitter coder can’t wait to escape his “filthy... disastrous” town.

Couldn’t have happened to a more appropriate guy.
I’ve never been robbed or mugged in my life despite having gone to some rather seedy parts of Atlanta, Birmingham, New Orleans, St Louis, DC, NYC, LA and San Francisco. I’m not a large person at 5’9” and 175 lbs. How one carries oneself has alot to do with whether potential criminals consider you an easy target.
Mine happened in an upscale hotel. Someone watched me carry equipment in, and used a modifed (filed down) key and went into my room while I was at dinner to steal it. When I returned, I opened my door and was hit in the head — robbed of my wallet and jewelry. I later found the modified key under the bed. The police told me that it happens all the time there.
It’s always the theif that is most indignant of being the victim of theft. One of life’s ironies.
Dont you mean “fired”?
How ironic! Obama buddy Johnson is himself a thief, who “misdirected” federal funds. When an honest federal civil servant—Mr. Walpin—uncovered Johnson’s misdeed, the White House reached deep into the bowels of the federal bureaucracy to fire him, while its lackeys in the MSM were loosed to dirty the whistle blower’s name. The lackey press has spiked the Walpin retaliation story, but he has an active lawsuit in the federal courts.
You must have the worse luck on earth, given the fact that San Fransisco has substantially lower crime rates than most other major cities in other states.
I used to carry a pistol without a permit to do so from time to time.
Go ahead, ask me if I truly needed to.
Well, I didn't expect to be robbed here in my home in northern NJ either. But robbed I have been. 'Twas Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and Corzine that done it. And they had help. They claim they stole my money (at gunpoint since my payments are hardly "voluntary.") to assist indigents who cannot pay for their own medical care, and even indigents who cannot pay for their own booze. They will decide who is worthy, relieving me of that decision. How nice of them! (Red dots anyone?) Corzine wants my money to pay for people who haven't done anything for me in the past and have retired now and still want my money. If they came and took it from me directly, they would be in prison. But Corzine does it on their behalf, and calls it "progressive."
ML/NJ
Maybe so, but the police at the time said this was a regular occurrence during conventions and trade shows.
