Late last month, Charisse Carney-Nunes fired up the computer at her home in Washington to check her e-mail. Her brain already was on morning drive time: breakfast for the kids, her day's work at a government agency. She glanced down at her screen, then froze.
"Ms. Carney-Nunes," began the e-mail from Michelle Malkin, a best-selling and often inflammatory conservative writer with a heavily trafficked Web site. "I understand that you uploaded the video of schoolchildren reciting a Barack Obama song/rap at Bernice Young elementary school in June. I have a few quick questions. Did you help write the song/rap and teach it to the children? Are you an educator/guest lecturer at the school? Did you teach about your book, 'I am Barack Obama' at the school? Your bio says you are a schoolmate of Obama. How well-acquainted are you with the president?"
Carney-Nunes looked at the time stamp 6:47 AM and closed the file without replying. She knew Malkin had driven criticism of President Obama's back-to-school speech, streamed nationwide, as an attempt to indoctrinate students. Now Malkin was asking about a YouTube video of New Jersey public-school children singing and enthusiastically chanting about Obama from a Black History Month presentation.

Carney-Nunes said an associate of hers videotaped the children's performance and later uploaded it, along with video and photos from other of her readings, to Carney-Nunes' YouTube account.
So Malkin gave her a chance to respond. Carney-Nunes did not. Yet Malkin is the bad one here...
"That's why my KGB instructors specifically made the point, "never bother with leftists, forget about these political prostitutes - aim higher" this was my instruction. Try to get into, uh, large circulation, established conservative media. Reach filthy rich movie makers, intellectuals in so-called academic circles. Cynical, ego-centric people who can look into your eyes with angelic expression and tell you a lie. This are the most recruitable people; people who lack moral principals - who are either too greedy or too, uh, suffer from self-importance, uh, they feel that they matter a lot. Uh, these are the people who KGB wanted very much to recruit. "--Yuri Bezmenov, KGB Defector
That quote from Glen Beck was supposed to be an example of uncivil discourse. The article is a shot at both Beck and Malkin.
The same Ann Gerhart that is so quick to critcize white people and race but saw fit to soft-soap the affirmative action Supreme Court nominess:
“It is the disarming move of a confident and mature woman, a wise Latina, if you will, not that anyone should suggest that men and women move through the world and relate to one another differently, of course.
Of course . . . the “not that there’s anything wrong about it” mindset
Civility is what liberals like to invoke when conservatives dare to blow liberal absurdity out of the water. When that happens, I hoist them on their own petard.
Censorship is coming.
Censorship is coming.
Censorship is coming.
Clearly Ann Gerhart and the WaPo believe there are some questions journalists should not be allowed to ask. This is should be disgusting to anyone — especially a newspaper reporter — who purports to understand the role of a free press in our Republic. The WaPo is now a chronicle of the Cult of Personality.
Isn’t the school/teachers/district lible for allowing the children to be photographed/videotaped without parental consent?
Good question. I don’t know how liability law works here.
This was a pre-emptive strike to excuse the nastiness that the DemocRats plan to use next year.
It was like all the articles saying how lying is good during the Clinton impeachment saga.
Or how disagreeing with the President was patriotic two years ago, but now is racist...
Yeah, “the level of hatred for the president is unprecedented”.
In most cases the publisher is liable if the parents did not give explicit permission (by written release or waiver) for their children’s image to be published.
If public school students were still taught American literature by the great American writers such as Mark Twain they would know that the thesis of this piece is bunk. In his hilariously skilled way he describes political campaign vitriol and character assassination easily greater than what we presently see.
Carnery-Nunes DID respond, by seeking out a friendly journalist to complain about Ms. Malkin to.
She refused to explain her actions of indoctrinating youth in songs of religious praise for a false prophet.
The Left has told us repeatedly that what Miss Riefenstahl did was not shameful. They teach her films in media courses and applied their techniques in the election of Obama.
Miss Riefenstahl was even honored at the Oscars in the year of her death.
But because of "Hitler", any comparisons are "wrong". Foolish liberals.
Barack Obama has YET to cross the aisle and work as a "uniter". He won't even speak friendly to Fox Newscorp and wussed out on a proposed Fox Debate (an author with a Barack booked slated for release on inauguration day conducted the final of the 3 presidential debates, he wasn't skeered then).
And why say "in 20 years". 20 years ago, it was Bush vs. Dukakis.
And yet the media told us Dukakis was going to win.
There is no truth in the pravda media and they hasn't been in decades. Lying liars. Tell your lies.
Revisionist history? How does the video of the song wind up on her youtube page?
Or did she have no presence in the video shoot or subsequent upload?
