Angry Hispanics mull boycotting 2010 census
WashTimes ^ | October 12, 2009 | Stephen Dinan

Angered by President Obama's lack of success in legalizing illegal immigrants, some Hispanic activists are urging all Hispanics to boycott the 2010 census as a sign of displeasure.

Other groups have asked the federal government to suspend immigration raids while census takers are in the field, hoping that will make illegal immigrants more likely to respond to questions.

It's just the latest trouble in what's turning into a rocky run-up to the census next year.

During a congressional hearing last week, a Democratic senator told Census Bureau Director Robert M. Groves that the American Community Survey - a yearly survey the bureau mails to a small sampling of Americans - pries too deeply and is so confusing that it appeared at first to be a case of mail fraud.

Meanwhile, a group of Republican senators is trying to have the 2010 census form include a question about citizenship. They are trying to set a precedent that congressional seats be reapportioned based on a count of citizens, rather than all residents.

The census issue is roiling Hispanic and immigrant rights groups. Major organizations and broadcasters are mounting a campaign for participation, but some activists argue that Democrats and Mr. Obama haven't done enough to earn Hispanic support for the effort.

"The only thing left for the immigrant to bargain is something they want from the immigrant, and that is that the person be counted. If that person refuses to cooperate, refuses to participate, refuses to comply, now he has a modicum of leverage," said Nativo Lopez, president of the Mexican American Political Association.

The Rev. Miguel Rivera, president of the National Coalition of Latino Clergy and Christian Leaders, is calling for a boycott specifically by illegal immigrants.

I (and I’m sure others) understand that the counting is based on persons, illegal, criminal, or citizen.

But it just irks the hell out of us that people who shouldn’t even be here affect the apportionment of representation as much as productive citizens.

From your link:

One of the most positive results of Sept. 11 is that it has made the American people mad enough to reject envy. They now could care less if Moslems or the French or whomever are envious of them. That rejection must now be applied to the envy panderers and envy appeasers within America herself.

That didn't take long to be destroyed.

This is so bogus. We are being scammed every which way but loose. I would bet the Ovomitons have the census rigged as we type.

(A) Ohaha and his thugs have NO fear whatsoever of rigging the census, and subsequent elections. Republicans let Rahm Emanuel steal the census from the Dept of Commerce so that the nasty little toad can politicize it and rig the census to get a permanent Dem majority.

(B) FREEPER FIRST PERSON ACCOUNT: "I directly witnessed Hispanics ‘coach’ other Hispanics to dupe California census takers ..... they inflated Hispanic numbers living at the address, and made-up names, or listed Hispanics living elsewhere as living at that address....The con was to gain more budget allocations and political representation for Hispanics. That was 19 years ago. I learned later that the this con game was occurring in all Hispanic communities throughout the West. "

(C) Providing false information to a census taker is a violation of federal and state law.

(D) All census takers should be provided with the phone number for ICE (TOLL FREE 1-866-347-2423).

(E) DEMAND THE CENSUS STAY NON-PARTISAN
Contact Thomas Mesenbourg, acting director of the US Census Bureau
EMAIL thomas.l.mesenbourg.jr@census.gov

(F) Demand that Congress stop ignoring the Federal Immigration and Nationality Act that makes it a crime to harbor,aid or abet illegal aliens. Punishment includes fines, imprisonment and confiscations of property. ANYONE who is aware of illegals and does not turn them in is breaking the law and could be charged with aiding and abetting.
Congress 202-224-3121 Toll-free switchboard: 800-965-4701----800-828-0498----877-762-8762

=============================================

REFERENCE Immigration law requires that aliens be documented for legal entry. (1) Those who sneak into the country are referred to as `entry without inspection (EWI). (2) Others enter with legal documentation and then violate the terms on which they have been admitted by taking jobs that are not authorized or overstaying the authorized period of stay.

NOTE WELL Both types of illegal immigrants are deportable under Immigration and Nationality Act Section 237 (a)(1)(B) which says: Any alien who is present in the United States in violation of this Act or any other law of the United States is deportable.

Evidence of illegal immigration should go to ICE 1-866-347-2423.

The frauds just keep on a-coming.....perpetrated by the Mexican government. QUOTING CONG TOM TANCREDO: “Juan Hernandez headed up the newly-created "Ministry of Mexicans Living in the United States." Hernandez is a very interesting fellow, a dual citizen of the United States and Mexico, and a good friend of presidents Bush and Mexico's Vicente Fox (and John MacCain's Hispanic outreach man). Hernandez said the purpose of the government agency he heads is:

(1) to increase the flow of Mexican nationals to the United States.....

(2) to serve Mexico’s needs.........

(3) to increase remittances to Mexico of $50 billion a year (30% of the Mexican GDP);

(4) to get US jobs for an exploding Mexican population, alleviating social instability due to rising unemployment;

(5) to get free US training for Mexicans, who are expected to return and repatriate those skills back to Mexico.

Hernandez wants amnesty: "By populating the United States with millions of Hispanics tied economically, politically and linguistically to Mexico, we are able to exert enormous influence and pressure on US policy and its dealings with Mexico."

Everyone should read that article. I spam it regularly... :)

Yeah, the patriotism aroused by an attack on our homeland that killed more people than any single attack in our history lasted about 6 minutes for some leftists.

Didn’t the Clintonistas break this law when they tried to substitute guesstimates for actual enumeration for the 2000 census?

If certain segments of our populace would put as much energy and ingenuity into productive activities as they do into gaming the system, our economy would never go bust.

Yep, and the Dims want to assume that large numbers of those who shouldn't be here avoided the census, and they want to add some percentage to the totals to make up for it.

I believe the census really doesn't share information with any other federal agency, so no criminals are found, no tax cheats found, or illegals deported because they cooperated with the census. Probably has to be that way or many would avoid it.

Bonus question: If they are using multiple stolen ID’s, do they get counted once for each? ACORN says “si!”.

I make demands of my congress critters all the time. They don’t even respond to my e mails any longer.

We now have the most anti American president, followed by a similar congress.

Bricks will fly soon
