If there was any question which side of the ideological blogosphere a lot of the inside-the-beltway media establishment go to regularly, Politico may have just cleared that up.
In an Oct. 11 Politico story headlined "Think Progress makes its mark," which was the top story on its Web site that evening, Daniel Libit paid reverence to the left-wing Center for American Progress' Think Progress blog.
"Can a liberal blog launched in the midst of the Bush era - a blog that once obsessed over Alberto Gonzales, Donald Rumsfeld, Karl Rove and the outing of Valerie Plame - still make its mark in the age of Obama?" Libit wrote. "In the case of Think Progress, the answer so far is yes."

There are a lot of us who have been saying that Politico is not a friend of conservatives and cannot be trusted.
Anytime I see the word “Think Progress” or “Progressive” I think ultra liberal.
I was cricizing them and their parent organization before most people had ever heard of them:

http://24ahead.com/s/center-american-progress
As you can see from the first link, I was banned from their site (under one screen name) in 2006. I’ve since left a dozen or two comments under a different screen name. I very rarely see more than one other critic.
In order to have an impact, you have to actually help out.
You are spot on.
Interesting how many FReepers keep posting Politico
articles to split Republicans & anti Palin, all from
either Democrat or Romney supporter writers.
Politico is usually the tool of the Third Party FReepers
using liberal talking points to prove their own agenda
Politico is a liberal rag.
You can have Beck when you pry him from my cold, dead mind!!!
snips = please read entire at link above - very revealing
"The Politico's "publisher, Robert L. Allbritton, 37, scion of the banking and media family that once owned the defunct Washington Star.
Allbritton "is best known for following his father, Joe L. Allbritton, as chief executive of the Riggs Bank, which was sold in 2004 after a Senate investigation found that Gen. Augusto Pinochet, the late Chilean dictator, had kept millions of dollars in secret accounts at Riggs. (!!!!!)
Robert Allbritton has been chairman and chief executive of Allbritton Communications, which owns television stations in Washington and a half dozen other markets, since 2001," Rowland wrote.
The Politico and politico.com, based in Arlington, Virginia, was launched January 23, 2007 , the date of President George W. Bush's State of the Union address, "with the mission of covering the politics of Capitol Hill and of the presidential campaign, and the business of Washington lobbying and advocacy with enterprise, style, and impact," its website states.
"The Politico has signed partnerships with all-news WTOP-103.5 FM as well as CBS, which will feature its stories and reporters on 'Face the Nation' and other CBS news programs. In addition, the startup will have its own 30-minute TV show that will air weekdays on NewsChannel 8, a sister Allbritton property whose newsroom it shares with [ABC News in Washington, D.C.] WJLA-TV (Channel 7).
"The newspaper will publish 30,000 copies to be distributed free of charge three days a week while Congress is in session, and one day a week during recess. The Web site, which also will be free, plans to be rich in video and is aimed at readers across the country," Kara Rowland reported January 22, 2007, in The Washington Times.
Your observations are correct. Good comments.
To bad some FReepers are not more ethical.
Good rundown eg.
Always good to spot out the sources.
A giveaway where the poster is headed.
I often wonder about connection between Politico and Soros .
A pack of former Wash Compost leftist responsible for the George Allen MACCA smear suddenly had all this money to start this huge Internet site ??????
While Sorso was supposed trying to set up a new left wing new group to manipulate the media.
Gee I wonder why came out of that Soros Plan??????
Thanks.
The timing of this supposed new political website and the recent Dem party gains seem more than a coincidence to me ?
The Politico team are all hard left Dc insiders formerly of the Compost or TIME or New Republic.
These connection to Think Progress and the Soros front groups tell us all we need to know.
Rush calls them hard left and part of the Obama state media.
Politico reminds me of The Hill....bland on the outside but red on the inside
...founded by WashPo sluts wasn’t it?
hell, freepers being how they are (yep I include myself) do stupid stuff all the time and blabber uninformed and go off on tirades espousing “facts” even from Mother Jones or The Nation if it suits their perspective
Thanks for the info!
You guys are both right — liberal!
Yes, you can see how they work when they cut George Allen off at the knees.
Am glad more are getting wise
They started to lose me when McCain was pushed so hard at the start of the primaries. They totally lost me when they started running Obama banner ads.
Other than from a "know thine enemy" viewpoint, I do not find them to be much of a source of good commentary.
