A top Senate Republican on Sunday announced his support for sweeping climate change legislation, disputing the "conventional wisdom" that says Congress simply cannot tackle the issue this year.
Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., co-authored an op-ed with Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., in The New York Times calling for action on legislation.
Kerry rolled out a Senate climate change bill alongside Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., late last month. A Graham aide said Sunday that the South Carolina Republican was not explicitly endorsing that bill, but stands ready to work with Kerry toward some version of legislation to combat global warming.
Though even Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has expressed doubt that the Senate can address the issue at the same time it's engineering health care reform, Graham and Kerry said a bipartisan bill is possible before a major international climate change summit in Copenhagen in December.

CA: All commie all the time. Sorry.... But I've voted straight R...when there's been one worth voting for. I think we're all in desperate trouble.
SC voters had a chance last year to replace Graham but instead they reelected him. Obviously he is doing something right by them.
The fact that Conley was a Ron Paul Democrat is argument enough in itself to have supported Graham.
As far as I can tell, he’s up for reelection in 2008. Let’s find someone to run against him and send them money. That’s the only way to stop these people is to quit acting like they’re Republicans and cut them off, period!
Sheesh, didn't even make it past the second sentence. Told me all I needed to know. Goober + Kerry (he served in Viet Nam) = friggin' disaster.
That simple p.o.s. has got to go.
I wonder who “bought” Lindsey on this one. My guess G.E. They wrote “Crap & Trade, anyway.
Hes trying to out-McCain McCain.

When will he announce his candidacy for POTUS?
Vote for the RNC = Frying Pan
Vote for Democrats = Fire
Vote for 3rd Party Conservatives = a principled choice, however slim, for limited, Constitutional Government.

Win: Vote for Conservative Rs, while forcing the R party toward conservatives.
3rd parties have not, and will not work.
In the history of the United States, not a single third party has come close to winning the presidency, only 7 3rd parties have even won a single states electoral votes and only 5 third parties have won even 10% of the vote.
They are Republican-Americans.

Descriptive term. Of course the Rats don’t even want to be known as Americans.
Why do they keep electing this traitor? I think both parties have been infiltrated by Marxist thugs. I really do.
This is a site to promote limited government not a site to slavishly support a single party. Perhaps you need to start a "Lindsay Graham Loyalty" site of your own.
Captain:
Sc voters need a five year long memory.
“Revenge is a dish best served cold.”
:-)
The only global warming I am seeing is a lot of hot air in DC.
Actually they do. They want to promote their views as what being American really is and they have been very successful at it. In large part because RINOs don't present any resistance to their POV. The public gets a choice between Democrat Party loyalty or Republican Party loyalty. American loyalty is seldom offered as a political choice.
TE: Actually they do.

Let me refine my comment a bit. Rats don't want to identify themselves with patriotism, or patriotic Americans, the way that conservatives traditionally view American patriotism.
They would, as you suggest, like to redefine Americanism or patriotism as Democrat party defined ‘tolerance’ and ‘bleeding heart liberalism’ (read socialism/radicalism).

American loyalty is seldom offered as a political choice.

Perhaps not in the past, but more and more now, it seems, we're seeing two pretty dichotomous views.
I agree. I hope more in the GOP will stand up and support a more rigorous view of conservatism. So far most of the energy seems to reside mostly amongst the rank and file.
