This headline may come as a bit of a surprise, so too might that fact that the warmest year recorded globally was not in 2008 or 2007, but in 1998.

Yes AlGore is and idiot, and he’s too stupid to understand that fact
To: marvlus
Actually, the warmest year in the 20th century was 1934.
Credit Steve McIntyre of Climate Audit for forcing that correction, although I don’t believe the word has spread roundabout and everywhere.

Just so I am clear; Everything I said about Algore being an idiot is correct? As clear a cloudless hot sunny summer day in August. Frankly, I'm concerned with the Global Cooling. Seems we might be headed into another Ice Age! Brrr. getting cold early here in Maine!

I don’t think Al Gore is an idiot, he is a con man. A PT Barnum of modern times.

What happened to global warming?
The single cause of warming, the Sun, had something to say about it. The hordes of government sponsored "scientists" and self anointed "saviors of the planet" are running around measuring cow farts and turning snide hypocritical noses up at people's carbon footprints. The general motivations are self aggrandizement ("I'm saving the World") and money (More taxes and controls). All this time these supposedly knowledgeable people can't see the Sun.

It never existed in the first place.

The chart above lists the top longest periods of sunspotless days for the last 14 solar cycles. The purple cells show a high number of periods for our current cycle, and this solar transition is still contributing more. Expect this to be the big contributing factor to a cold (brrrrrrr!) winter, no matter what the GlobalWarmisters-ClimateChangeramists happen to say.

It's going to be a brutal winter in many parts. Much of the summer here on the Eastern seaboard felt like fall. Global cooling is what people should fear. A little warming is good. Global cooling would be catastrophic for agriculture and massive food shortages will result.

As cold as it will get, The left will not admit they are pulling a scam. You hear it on the radio, read it in their papers, they continue the lie

If they can rush these massive taxes and government controls through we might see some acknowledgment of reality.
How often does government release the labor(tax) burdens and controls it creates?
Leave the 'global warming' taxes and controls in place then add taxes and fees for whatever the climate changes to next. Not enough insulation? Fine. Need extra $ to upgrade infrastructure against the 'unexpected' cold? Tax. Etc, etc...

What happened to global warming? It's now climate change, don't you know. Just as health care reform became insurance reform, or is it back to health care reform?

Indeed some would say it is hotting up. Interesting article, but I was very uncomfortable with the switch to porn lingo at the end.
