From right and left, questions about peace prize

WASHINGTON — Gee, you'd think a U.S. president who won the Nobel Peace Prize might get rave reviews from his party's activists and polite congrats from top Republicans.

But news of Barack Obama's award Friday drew a rebuke from the Republican Party chairman, ridicule from conservative bloggers, and even gripes from some liberals who think he hasn't done enough to wind down the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Top Democrats congratulated Obama, of course, but critics abounded.

"What has President Obama actually accomplished?" said Michael Steele, chairman of the Republican National Committee.

"It is unfortunate that the president's star power has outshined tireless advocates who have made real achievements working towards peace and human rights."

There was praise from two Democrats who also have won the Nobel Peace Prize.

Former President Jimmy Carter, who won in 2002, called Obama's selection a "bold statement of international support for his vision and commitment."

He's only committed to doing the bidding of his globalist elite masters, that rat, Zer0bama.

Admit it, Mr. Obama, you don't deserve that Nobel War Prize. Please. Admit it.

Usually, they don’t give out trophies until after the season is over. I guess we’re seeing America’s first “historical” I WANT IT NOW president.

I don’t even have to read the article from the Associated Presstitutes to tell you that the list of 0bama’s accomplishments is mysteriously missing from it.

"I'm not sure what the international community loved best; his waffling on Afghanistan, pulling defense missiles out of Eastern Europe, turning his back on freedom fighters in Honduras, coddling Castro, siding with Palestinians against Israel, or almost getting tough on Iran," Barrett said...still not too late to honor Neville Chamberlain.....

Fox news touched upon this this a.m. stating that nObama was in office for 12 days when the nomination application were due. So, as Fox News said, they gave it to him for his speeches and future speeches and possible accomplishments. 12 fricken’ days and the lefties can't understand why so many people find this award a fraud.

12 days. That is a record even according to Nobel Committee Chairman Jagland. It begs the question: what did Obama do in those 12 days that made him worthy of such an august honor?

I found this in the local rag - “Aagot Valle, a lawmaker for the Socialist Left party who joined the Nobel committee this year, said she hoped the selection would be viewed as “support and a commitment for Obama.”

“And I hope it will be an inspiration for all those that work with nuclear disarmament and disarmament,” she told AP in a rare interview. Members of the committee usually speak only through its chairman.”

So a socialist awarded a socialist with an award for what he is going to do.

It’s more of a testament to the silliness of the prize committee. President Obama is just a bystander.

The curious thing is that they all believe he will lessen US nukes. Any attempt to lessen the number of nukes...floats via the senate, and frankly...those guys aren’t that stupid about national defense. You won’t find more than twenty senators who would support that agenda. So this witty moment of thinking nukes will decrease....is mostly a bogus feeling.
