Okay, I’m no Lawyer, I’ll bite........
What does this mean?
For us non lawyers, is this a good thing or a bad thing.

It means nothing. Orly jumped the gun and made a motion to start discovery - filed yesterday. Judge says - nope, not yet. Nothing else, he still hasn’t ruled zero’s motion to dismiss or ordered the case to trial. We wait...red
No discovery for Orly Talitz. Obama’s lawyers get to keep the stay in place while they try to get the suit thrown out.
So no snoopin’ around in the Hawaii state offices..
I’d like to be optimistic, but I am not. This is headed for the trash heap just like the rest. Nobody Judge wants to open this, and Orly isn’t a good enough lawyer to make them, or make them want to, even.
Case closed.
I think it is neither good nor bad.
Looks like there had been an order to keep the long form birth certifigate sealed and Orly Taitz wanted to get it sooner; she was denied.
But it does show that Obama’s attorneys are fighting to keep the longform sealed. And that has always meant to me they are hiding something.
And the whole case to me and others who do not consider themselves ‘birthers’ is about being open and transparent, not so much about NBC status. That Obama and his people want to hide his past speaks volumes about his duplicity. He is hiding something.
And just recently we read that it was indeed Ayers that wrote ‘Dreams of My Father’, whereas Obama feigned he was just some guy in the neighborhood, etc. We are seeing the truth come out slowly and it is not good.
You need to read the Judges’ statement from 2 days ago. In it he had things to say for both sides. What he told Orly is that he was concerned about standing, AND that he would have suggestions to Orly should he dismiss the case for lack of standing.
The Judge has to look ahead at what will be presented to the appeals court. If he allows the case to go forward, Obama’s lawyers will be in appeals court the same day motioning to dismiss based on lack of standing.

If you read Orly's "emergency motion" for discovery, she was not asking for the long form BC. She was asking to take Obama's and Hillary Clinton's depositions. This after the judge already told her in the October 5 hearing that Obama's deposition would be unnecessary in any event because he doesn't remember where he was born. And asking for Hillary's deposition is just silly-- what first-hand, non-hearsay could she possibly have on the eligibility issue? It's almost as if Orly wanted to look like someone who is a headline-grabber and political troublemaker rather than a serious lawyer.
Orly is trying to get things organized because of time constrictions, given that the judge published his ordered case managemnnet dates for trail etc.
Orly is not "Jumping the gun" She is establishing a record in case she has to ask for more time to get witnesses to attend if the motion to dismiss is refused.
She can point to " I asked for you to lift the stay," if there is a scheduling squabble about time later. Thus is because she is up against the whole US DOJ, that can easily control case management dates and overwhel the litigation by using its resources to get all of its witnesses ready while Orly at most has only a few buck and a coule of volunteers to help her. So you have to understand this pleading in that context.
The nuances of pleadings are often lost on those who have not had to labor under them.
If anything, Orly is thinking ahead of the game that is afoot.

Do we know who Obama’s lawyers are specifically? Is it a private firm or Justice Dept. attorneys? Who are the specific individual lawyers who are representing him? Who the hell is paying for all this? Is this information in the private domain? Thanks!
He is being represented by the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office. The individual lawyers are named on all the court pleadings.
Thank you for the info. That means that the American taxpayers are paying for this BS because this jackass has something to hide and won’t come clean! Is the sitting President allowed to use the US Attorneys Office like his personal counsel?
Neither. The status quo continues pending a ruling on the defense motion to dismiss.
Sue the president and you sue the United States. The U.S. Attorney is the governments lawyer.
