To understand all these scientific and social FACTS that come at us from our learned and so-called intellectual eschelon, you have to understand the POLITICS of academia.
As a young student striving for an education/poli-science degree, I worked at the university in the school of engineering as assistant to the dean . Our professors were HOT on anything to do with NASA at the time, because it meant mega-bucks from federal grants for the space program. It was required that our professors spew out everything they could about aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, metallurgical engineering, et al, and get it published as absolute necessities for the public good! We had huge wind tunnels for our rocket designers, a first rate metallurgical lab where they were designing materials for heat shields, and I was there when they cranked up their first nuclear reactor. We couldn't crank articles out of the departments fast enough and get them published in all the learned journals.
I was there, also in the 70's and remember one of the big predictions of the times was the coming ice age..which if you live in Texas, you're going to be skeptical of anyway!
In one of the political science classes we were assigned to research political hot topics and match them up with information coming out of THIS university to get a perspective on how academia and politics mesh to manipulate public opinon. It was really an eye opener! And from this experience is where I learned term JUNK SCIENCE!
Understand that our academia RUNS of research grants from the public AND the private sector! They are not particular about what they say and what methodology they use to get the MONEY! THEIR PRIORITY IS NOT YOUR CHILD'S EDUCATION....it's getting the MONEY! Get the students, get the prestige, get the tenture and live comfortably, REALLY comforably off government money all YOUR life!
Don't get me wrong, higher education is a MUST! Now days all you get out of public education through high school is life skills and basic training for a basic life. From there on out, you get the just rewards for whatever accomplishments YOU work to get! Institutions of higher learning also bring jobs to your community and you are lucky to have one in your area! We need them! Especially since boarding at these facilities is priced out of reach.
It's when politics and academia become users and feeders that the clash and the clamour needs to be revealed to the public.
GLOBAL WARMING IS JUNK SCIENCE! It was created by politicians three decades ago as a tool for the government to suck mega bucks into government control. That was about the time we started waking up to the fact that we were accruing huge deficits and national debt due to the socialist programs created in the 60's.
We have been hearing about the necessity of greenie weenie ideology all these years, and yet the scientific community has not even produced ONE marketable greenie weenie product to back up all these theories (besides an electric car (big whoop) that requires a $2,000 battery be dumped every five years-wonder where they're going to dump them, or get the materials to build them?). They haven't even formed a committee yet to decide WHICH GREENIE WEENIE energy technology they're going to allow us to produce! And to date they're jumping willy nilly all over the place as is typical of academia and politics to find something they can sell us to get control of the almighty dollars for their re-distribution of the wealth! The Great Society.

NASA and the universities NEED the global warming hoax because of their the TENURE and SALARIES. All of the top scientists from M.I.T. and Caltech know this is bull$hit!!
