And when the rights of Christians are threatened, I know what side I will take.

I thought that was the whole point.

“Hate Crime Laws” are actually (and this has been demonstrated in Canada) “anti-Christian laws”.

What they really need to do is make verbal assualt on politicians a hate crime.

Assaulting people because of their sexual orientation would become a federal hate crime

I thought it already was.

Christians and Conservatives also need to be included on that "protected" list.

These so-called 'gays' need to be covered.

All this means is an openly gay man can do or say anything he wants, they will be like a protected species that cannot be touched. (not that I would ever want to touch one mind you...)

This ought to be fun. How about the rights of polygamists? And you know the hate crimes against the goat ...

My guess is the Supreme Court might argue that equal protection under the law is what is supreme.

Hmmm. Growing up, I was subjected to more ethnic jokes than I care to remember, because my last name ends in “ski”.

Where’s my personal hate crime? I wanna sue somebody.

And, if this law passes the next logical (to them) progression will be to make it a hate crime to forbid your children to participate in anything remotely resembling homosexuality.

Between the "hate crimes", "EEO", and "obamaland tactics", the white, christians in this country are being set up to be the next group of "slaves", with no rights whatsoever. Reparation is not only about money....

It’s about time. I’ve noticed gay people are very hateful, and it’s about time that when they attack me and my family, or others who think like I do, they should be punished.

:-)

In the gays defense, they aren’t perpetrating premeditated acts of violence against Christians.

Somebody explain to me how tiered penalties for certain crimes, depending on the presumed motives of the perpetrator, are not a violation of the Equal Protection clause of the 14th Amendment.

"Assaulting people because of their sexual orientation would become a federal hate crime in legislation the House is set to vote on Thursday."

Hmmm, since we don't know what sexual orientation babies in their mothers wombs are until after they are born, and since it seems to have been accepted that gays and lesbians are born that way, couldn't one say that abortion could be a hate crime? I mean since you can't prove which way straight or gay the yet to be born baby is......

Assaulting somebody is already a crime. The feds have no place in enforcing violations of what should be state crimes.

This is yet another facet of the Great Victimology Scam.

I posted this analysis on another thread, but it equally applies here. Here's how the scam works, for those of you who are frustrated by its persistence and the seeming inability of the GOP to surmount it:

1. Some people are members of a "Protected Class".
2. All "Protected Class" members are entitled to special rights and accusation privileges, unless they also happen to be a member of an "Oppressor Class" (see below)
3. In order to qualify for Protected Class membership, one must be at least one of the following:

a. Non-white or of mixed racial composition
b. Female
c. Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered, or Sexually Indeterminate
d. Disabled
4. Some people are members of "Oppressor Classes", including:
a. Heterosexual White Males
b. Conservatives and/or Republicans
c. Members of traditional religious faiths, including Fundamentalist Christians, Orthodox Catholics or observant Jews.
5. Membership rights and privileges of a Protected Class are automatically negated by concurrent membership in an Oppressor Class. For example, a Disabled Hispanic man would ordinarily be protected, unless he also happened to be a Republican, which, as an Oppressor Class negates the protection. Likewise, a white female would be protected unless she happens to be a Christian, and so on.
6. Protected Class members are entitled to the following rights and privileges:
a. Total immunity from criticism regarding their thoughts, words, or behavior.
b. A presumption of having been oppressed, now or in the past, and a presumption of innocence with regard to anything with which they might be charged by a member of an Oppressor Class.
c. The right of accusation against any member of an Oppressor Class, and a presumption that their accusation is factual and true.
d. Exemption from all personal responsibilities, including the necessity to provide for one's own existence by working.
Now, the reason why Oppress... er, I mean, Republicans have difficulty negating the effects of this scam is because it is part of the Left's Progressive project, and the whole of our culture is in on it. Our public schools indoctrinate children in the lessons as outlined above in virtually every subject, including the natural sciences (what is "Global Warming" but the outcome of white male capitalist greed?).

Moreover, by pretending to speak for entire "classes" of people, the Left adopts a powerful psychological weapon. If a conservative man criticizes an aspect of modern feminism, he's not attacking feminists, he "hates women". If a GOP woman does the same, she "opposes women's rights" or "doesn't want equality". Similarly, if a white man dares to mention that inner-city schools are failing, he is not hailed as a reformer: he just "hates black people" or wants to starve their school of funding. If a black Republican makes the same complaint, he's an "Uncle Tom", which is another means of invoking accusation privileges.

And that's entire the purpose of the "game": it is intimidation, practiced on a grand scale in order to achieve and maintain political power.

The only way to beat it is to agree to stop playing along, which takes a backbone and some testicular fortitude, both of which one presumes might be found among members of the Oppressor Classes.
