Just a matter of time before you start seeing DHS raids at gun shows.

Hey libs, try thus:
1) Put the perp in prison. For a good while.
2) If the perp killed someone, fry them.
Now, melt the gun.
Done.
Betcha won’t see any more problems from the perp or the gun.

So what, I trust the gun show vendors more than I trust NYC’s Bloomberg, Obammy and most of the government.
We need guns to keep the government in line and afraid of us.

Half at fault here.
If the state doesn’t require they run a background check as an occasional seller, then odds are they won’t do it. But if somebody admits they couldn’t pass a background check, then they should not sell to the person.
What is needed is prosecution of individuals, not more restrictive laws. But of course, that’s never good enough for Communists.

"The avereage sell price was around $1000,"..."Two assault rifles and 20 semiautomatic handguns were bought this way, the report said."At "around $1000" those must have been some very nice rifles and pistols. You don't suppose they were offering $1000 for $400 guns, do you? In this economy it might be tempting.

If arrests were made then there are plenty of laws to curb this type of arms selling. Why do we need more?
Just enforce the laws that now exist. No problem.

Since I’m “off” when I go to a gun show and it’s on the weekend I’m pretty shady lookin’ when I’m there.

The Mayor of New York is running stings in Ohio? How about if Ohio investigators come over to your city Mayor Bloomberg and start busting the mobsters and the racketeers that run your town?

I wonder how many people have been caught committing crimes, in NYC, with guns purchased in other states using the “gun show loophole”. I’d guess, very few.
To: nickcarraway
private unlicensed dealers, known as "occasional sellers," IOW, regular guys who have some property they'd like to sell.

I just checked on the online auction sites (to see if I had missed some massive inflation in gun prices) and you can buy sub-$500 Glocks (new) and sub-$800 ARs and AKs by the truckload. What were they buying for $1000?

Why melt a perfectly good gun?

If a state says its legal for a resident of that state to privately sell a firearm to a purchaser within that state then the Feds have no problem with it no background check is required. The buyer is ok too if he is allowed to own that particular firearm in his home state. If he is not allowed to own or buys a firearm banned in his state he is then comitting a crime when he brings it over the border to his home state. In this case NYC has a $hit load of guns labeled as illegal.

Bad guys are buying guns and the liberal Democrat solution is to punish the good guys.
They always do this.
