I just checked on the online auction sites (to see if I had missed some massive inflation in gun prices) and you can buy sub-$500 Glocks (new) and sub-$800 ARs and AKs by the truckload. What were they buying for $1000?

So they spent $22,000 dollars on a worthless sting,
not to mention expenses and per diem, etc.
