"What's the secret sauce?'' Glenn Beck is asked about the popularity of his FOX News Channel program in an interview with Newsmax - sort of like a Keith Olbermann interview in Ramparts.
"America is looking for someone, whether you agree or disagree, who will say the truth,'' Beck says. "Because I am a recovering alcoholic, when I hit the bottom, I promised to the Lord that, if he would take the guilt away... I would serve him... and I have done that...
"You may not agree with me,'' Beck says, but he will tell it like it is.
Why is the "Left'' hysterical about him? ("Any college kids that are watching,'' host Chris Ruddy, CEO of Newsmax Media, notes in an aside to the audience, "don't tell your professors that you watch Glenn Beck. You'll get an F.''

Ah, yes, was it Brian Eno? I picked up the album back in 81. Was in Germany at the time watching the Russians watch us watch them..., or something like that. Anyway, I believe the America is Waiting sample line is from KGO Radio and host Ray Taliafero (a screaming lib, but hey it was late night radio in those days) I will have to dig out that album out of the collection and put it on the turntable. I just recently purchased one of those units that turns vinyl into CD and thusly to my iPod...
Yep, I love Rush too. I find that he is not as too the point as Glenn Beck, but I think that it is just a difference in styles. Rush is the person responsible for my conservatism. I started listening to him when I was 23 right around the start of Bill Clinton’s presidency. Rush really gave me an appreciation for my country, my freedom, and what it means to be a voter. I believe that I have learned more from Rush about reality and politics than I ever learned in college.
We never miss him at this house....
same here. the dittocam for 3 hours, lunch, and then Glenn soon after. great way to spend part of a day.
"I was not aware of that!" The album just says "unidentified indignant radio host". But yeah, it's a general phenomenom that all this leftist lib stuff is flying right back in their face, even if they haven't noticed so far.
Oh yes. I remember those days. 14th ACR at OP Alpha.
How can any stomach Ray T? Most tedious host ever, in addition to being as dumb as a box of rocks
I started researching Barack Obama in March 08 and began sending Rush emails containing information that was forthcoming about candidate Obama.
Rush did nothing with the information. I continued sending information until this past July. Again nothing.
Arrrgh!! I did the same thing. I kept sending him stuff -- I mean, there was SO much out there that told us exactly who Obama was, yet no one would touch it.
Now, they report on all Obama's crap like they never heard it before.
I was with the 2/33rd in Kirch-goens, we would go up to OP Indio to relieve the 11 cav so they could go have a vacation in Graf... Ha! Was an old tread head back then...
I turn my TV on once a day to watch Glenn Beck...then turn it off when he's over.
We must defend Glenn at every opportunity...there are evil ones who wish to shut him up.
I think they credited SF as the unidentified radio host, O will have to search for my copy to find out. I thusly made the connection after listening to the track back then...
Check. "Unidentified indignant radio host. San Francisco, April 1980."
You have a problem liking both of them?
What is wrong with each using the talents he has to further our cause. Do we only have one that is worthy?
As for Glenn...I thank God everyday that I have a DVR. The man is an inspiration. Completely selfless. I can't imagine what he and his family have to put up with so he can get the truth out to the American People.
Thank you Glenn...this country owes a great debt to you.
~~Great Glenn interview ... PING!
Good, cause I have spent the last 20 minutes rooting through my collection. Its in there somewhere. A whole wall of albums, I dunno, 3k-5k? Who knows. But I saw some oldies but goodies, Big Mama Thornton, Moby Grape, Sons of Champlain, Its A beautiful Day, (Live at Carnigie Hall) Frank Frost, Sunnyland Slim, Dan Fogelberg, Jimi Plays MOnterey, Janis, Airplane, Dead, Santana, Doors and more Doors and of course every Beatles and Stones album, including an original Got Live if you Want It! The list goes on and on and on and of course nothing is in order, John Lee Hooker is everywhere, next to Debussy and more next to the Iggy and the Stooges, just a complete shambles...
I feel your pain. Not only that, it's in a different disorder every time I look. I've got kind of a different selection of albums, though, and at 3k, you've got me by a factor of 10, easy. Cream, Beatles, Dylan, Firesign Theatre. Talking Heads, of course. Gosh, Switched on Bach, and well, Dave Van Ronk, Mississippi John Hurt, Easy Rider, Woodstock, TRex, Jim Kweskin, ... A bunch of classical ... Monteverdi Madrigals, oh yeah! Schubert songs. Handel, Mozart, Sousa ...
Well, it'll do.
... hey, Bangladesh, dude! ... National Lampoon's Radio Dinner!
Why study Teddy? He was just another big government Progressive (within the meaning of the term, as it’s used today).
But Beck is OUTSTANDING. I DVR him daily!
<No one connects the dots as he does. No one gives insight into their reasoning as he does. No one displays their passion and honesty as he does
I had a hard time with him at first. Sometimes I still do, but you are right on in your assessment. When that guy gets fired up I often think he’s the last guy in the country who has such passion for the Constitution and for right. I usually watch TV while doing other stuff and he’s one of the few people who gets me to stop what I’m doing and just listen, even when I don’t want to.
Bless him and protect him, ‘cause he sure is taking the hits for our side.
3K Collection?—One of the benefits of age, been stomping around on the planet when albums were being made every hour... :)
