“Do not post to me” - Repost

We've received many requests from freepers requesting that other freepers not post to them. There are several problems with this.

1. It's impossible for us to enforce.
2. We don't have the time to enforce these requests.
3. We don't have the software to keep track of these requests.
4. Thick skin helps.
5. Ignore the poster, if you don't reply, they won't reply.

Free Republic does not need a bozo filter, bozo filters are for wimps.

Final note: Trolls, troublemakers, disruptors, forum pests, malcontents, RINOs, liberals, stalkers, et al, would continue posting to (harassing) someone after being asked to stop. Conservative FReepers would not.

Thank you for that clarification, Admin Mod. Everyone here now knows that the idea was at least looked at, considered and dismissed for whatever reason. That’s good enough for me. :~)

This is all a bunch of B.S.; if we wanted to be seen as reasonable people we wouldn’t need to be reminded of basic manners.

Certainly we wouldn’t make light of gentle nudges when they do come by then engaging in “he started it,!” “un-huh, he did!”

Yeah, but can’t mods delete a post and then redo? If not, what good is being a mod?

Not even Jim or John can edit a comment, we can only remove them. We can edit everything in the main article and all our edits are available via the history button on each thread. We can also edit headers, correct titles, add dates and authors, etc. Those edits are not available to anyone, we just trust each other on those corrections.

I't not going to live down my error in #1 with the other mods for a long time.
