A new report from a national coalition of mayors urges President Obama to adopt dozens of reforms to help curb gun violence, including steps to crack down on problems at gun shows and the creation of a federal interstate firearms trafficking unit.
The "Blueprint for Federal Action on Illegal Guns," a copy of which was obtained by The Washington Post, presents 40 recommendations that "would dramatically improve law enforcement's ability to keep guns out of the hands of criminals -- and, in doing so, save innocent lives."
The strategies outlined by the Mayors Against Illegal Guns, a bipartisan group of about 450 mayors nationwide, focus on the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The agency, which has been sent a copy of the report, declined to comment.

So we should expect that all these mayors will instruct their personal bodyguards to discard their guns toot sweet? Let me know when THAT happens.
Comparison: The list of Texas mayors with the list of New Jersey mayors.
a lot of these towns in Pennsylvania are so small I imagine an gun owning citizen could go knock on the Mayor’s front door and tell him exactly what he or she thinks of this letter...which, I suspect, many will do
Ah yes, the old "450 whatevers" trick. I think this started with the "400 historians" who weighed in on Clinton's impeachment. Since then we've had 400 scientists, 400 paleoenterologists... today Obama had 150 doctors in for a Rose Garden event. I guess the lefties think this stuff is persuasive, as if we're all too stupid to know they cherry-pick their historians and so on to say whatever they want. |
Petaluma, CA
Bitch. I'm proud to say I didn't vote for her.
stevio,
Small Town PA...
Mayor Tina Hagenbuch
Weissport, PA
Weissport—population 450
strip out kids, illegals and felons, nothing left.
By the way, she would not have the nerve to make her stance public, this area is very gun friendly.
“Texas:
Mayor Richard Ward
Hurst, TX
Only 1 Texas Mayor??? Well dang it thats 1 too many!!!”
‘bout time for a Hurst TEA PARTY!!!
“...steps to crack down on problems at gun shows...”
Thank goodness! Here are the problems at gunshows I’d like to see addressed:
1. Distant parking
2. Not enough ammo
3. Too much flea market crap, beanie babies, jerky
4. Too few private sellers (making the transaction unreported to the government).
5. Unrealistically high prices.
6. Annoying security guards who make you take off the sticker on your back that says what you’re looking for (they expect me to buy a booth?)
7. The geezers in the good locations with the same crap they’ve been displaying for years without selling anything.
8. The fact that our highest denomination currency is only $100, which means a fat wad if you plan any serious shopping. (The Euros have a bill worth over $700, but then again they don’t have gun shows).
9. Rules against concealed carry.
10. ATF hassling the best sellers.
Mayor Greg Nickels
Seattle, WA
Hey Mayor Mc Cheese made the list, no surprises there... the guys a LOSER !
SAF.ORG is going to sue his fat arse off!
Washington State Attorney Rob McKenna has even stated that Mayor Fatty Mc Cheese Nickels can’t ban any guns anywhere in WA State.
BTW an illegal gun is like the one the Seattle Chief of Police LOST.. another 5-star dumb arse !
How about a petiton for Firing-Gun-Grabbing-Mayors Reform? I’m sure we can get more than 450 signatures on that one.
GOD bless you and your attitude there unixfox
And go TEXAS.
A whole lot more than 450 mayors should be put put to pasture
and a few should be horse whipped.
As a former resident of the New Orleans area, I'm kicking myself for having forgotten about that photo - I would've certainly posted it in last night's thread. Also, for some reason, I never before noticed the NOPD "RV" in the background.
Kutztown Pa., my wife and my honeymoon hometown. In the middle of Mennonite country, but also KU. The mayor Sandra Green is a member of the f’in “Center for Progressive Leadership”.
There were far more pro-gun FReepers on that thread than there are Texas mayors in that worthless Bloomburg bunch...
I think he is stupid enough to give it a go which will result in larger midterm election losses.
Hey! I object! I like having a chunk of good, homemade jerky to chaw on whilst I cruise the really big shows...
(Still looking for a good deal on a couple more HK P7M8 mags...)
Which is indeed, surprising...
