Those who read the New York Times's coverage of the unsuccessful results of Barack and Michelle Obama's attempt to seal the 2016 Summer Olympics bid for Chicago on Friday afternoon ('For Obama, an Unsuccessful Campaign") might want to read it again.
If it doesn't seem the same, it's because it isn't.
Blogger Weasel Zippers (HT Hot Air Headlines via Instapundit) caught the Times committing a major scrub of the story. But it's really worse than that.
An excerpt of the item's first five paragraphs posted at FreeRepublic at 4:44 Eastern Time on October 2 shows that the article was apparently originally published under the same title with Peter Baker's byline Friday sometime Friday afternoon.
NYT: For Obama, An Unsuccessful Campaign ["He Could Not Even Muster The Silver Or Bronze"]
Well done! RNC should use this.
Funny you should post that. It was the National Enquirer that broke the John Edwards “Love Baby” story. The NY Slimes continues to ignore it.
Remarkable. The NYT really isn’t the newspaper of record now in so many revealing ways.
They are setting a record for operating losses for a newspaper though. LOL
Did anyone ever get an actual count of the crowd as I note you said 1.8 million. My friend that went said it was at two million. I do know some of the groups asked people to text to try to get a better idea of the number present.
Mmmm, mmmm, mmmm. Barack Hussein Obama!
Satan's latest tool!
Mmmm, Mmmm, mmmm! Barack Hussein Obama!
A "bought by Soros" fool!
Your home page is to Die For!
EXCELLENT!
GROSS BUT RIGHT ON TARGET!
Everyone oughta check it out...:-)

That reminds me, I did a new one for JimRob and forgot to add it.

The best study done by anybody that I’ve seen was done by Zac Moilanen of Indiana University. You can read and download it here:
http://www.scribd.com/doc/19743935/The-Real-Number-of-Protesters-Zac-Moilanen
Also, here’s the best panoramic picture of the event, taken by a photographer for Fredomworks.com from the Capitol dome:
http://www.freedomworks.org/node/20204
It pretty well corroborates the Molianen article, which makes an estimate of about 1,780,000.
Ha! Made me look - outstanding! Love the blue prompter....just what would he do?
Thanks.
The real question that should be asked is if the White House is so hypersensitive to criticism that a re-write was ordered on such a non-important story, can we trust the Pom Pom media to be fair and accurate about important issues like Obama’s indecision on Afghanistan or Obama’s destruction of our economy?
Great catch. Proving once again that Free Republic does the work that the Media refuses to do! :)
Actually, Blogger Weasel Zippers caught the Slimes, Newsbusters reported on it and I just posted the Newsbusters story. That’s the beauty of the VRWC network.
Here are pictures of the helicopters that were flying overhead watching the 9/12 March in DC (Where are the pictures they took of the masses?)
